No matter how many people want us to leave, people have to accept sooner or later, that we won't.
Why do I say this?
Look at Germany, Japan, Korea.
We've not been at war with these countries for over 50 years, yet we're still in these countries. (Yes I know we were never in a war against South Korea, which we are in, be we have never come to a treaty with North Korea, finishing the war either. So, we're still in there in case we, or North Korea, decide to continue the war.)
Even if all of a sudden, we decisively win, we won't ever pull out. It's pretty much as simple as that.

1. This is why there was no plan. They never intended to leave. |

There will be a shell game in which we leave without leaving, but Iraq is our client state now.

are losing the "war."
I personally do not believe it is possible for any nation to declare victory, militarily or otherwise, when it operates secret torture prisons across the globe and then lies about it.
You may be right about the Bush administration's wish to remain in Iraq forever. "Our" oil is inconveniently located beneath Iraqi sand. But historically, middle eastern occupations have not gone well, even when run by more gifted people than this pack of fools.

You have the rise of China and India and a uniting of the peoples of the world in opposition to US imperialism. But from now until it is over you can believe that the majority of Americans that wants us to leave will grow. The debts of the country cannot be manipulated much longer without severe social consequenses. We have a rise in poverty and lower confidence in a brighter tomorrow. We have printed all the money that the world wants and we have no gold.
Iraq was an illegal invasion, wrapped up in a deadly and unwanted occupation, integrated with global conquest, peppered with lies, and served with kool-aid.
Iraq is too hard to stomach to stay down.

The battles in Iraq is a civil war. Each segment is fighting for control of Iraq.
They've never had any interest in doing war with the U.S.

..If given a chance, they would take a pop shot at an American any day of the week.
Suicide bombs can't gain you control of a country.
