NYTimes gets it absolutely right this time.

Instead,we got the familiar mix of political spin, clumsy historical misinformation, contemptuous dismissals of civil liberties concerns, cynical attempts to paint dissents as anti-American and pro-terrorist, and a couple of big, dangerous lies.

Did they bring up the positive proof that they are spying on the average American. Why else would they take google to court for not handing over their record as AOL. MS and others did.

Their 'thumbs down on Alito' editorial earlier in the week was unequivocal, succinct, unsparing and utterly persuasive.

Let's just hope that there's someone left on the other side who's capable of *being* persuaded.
