Brokeback Mtn got here just as the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering
Edited on Sun Jan-29-06 12:12 PM by NVMojo
was starting!! So that means I get to see it! I'm sure the theater owner would not have even shown it if not that thousands of cowboy/girl poets and tourists are descending on our little redneck Bush-loving berg. I'm going to see it today.

The reason I believe this is that we never even got to see "Good Night, and Good Luck" as the theater owner didn't bring it here. Syrianan was only here 2 weeks. I missed it due to work schedule.

Here's more about the Cowboy Poetry Gathering:

Remember Michael Martin Murphy? And his song "Wildfire"? He comes here every year and so do many other celebs. One year Brad Pitt was here because his brother has some type of folk band and the town went nutts. Someone I know stood behind him in line at the grocery store as he was buying a bottle of Jack Daniels. He'd been heliskiing in the Rubies during the Gathering and had racoon eyes. She drooled anyways.

3. yes ...
Actually, yes, it did. I went with my 22 yr. old son and it was us and two women in the entire theater. It was here longer than Syriana though. However, our little stupid town Repukes got Dick Cheney to visit here just before the presidential election. I got out of town as soon as he deboarded.

4. Just saw it. Beautiful film production. Story ripped my heart out.
Actors were all excellent. Those parents at the end ...twilight zone.

I'm glad I got to see it on the big screen.
