O'er The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave!!!!!
I'm watching the NHL last night.
Colorado Avalanche vs the hated Vancouver Canucks live from the Pepsi Center in Denver.

I love watching hockey when a Canadian team is playing, because I like it when they sing both National Anthems.

This guy that sang last night in Denver was extraordinary.
First he sang "Oh, Canada"!
Then a stirring rendition of our National Anthem.

When he was wrapping up and soulfully singing "O'er The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave" it hit me.

The land of the free.
Except for your phone calls, your e-mail, your cell phone records, your internet surfing habits, your sexual orientation, your right to choose who you wish to marry, your ability to dissent or to protest, your decision to end your life to alleviate intense pain and suffering and very, very soon, your right to choose what you want to do to with your own body and your right to privacy.

We are neither "FREE" nor are we very "BRAVE"

This is why I hate the Republican party and their evil intentions.

The Bastards...

I WANT MY FREAKING COUNTRY BACK!

3. NO, Colorado lost in an Overtime Shoot-out 4-3
But, we were down two goals late in the third period and Colorado came storming back to tie it up and force OT.

4. Oh yes, I do know how you feel.
Last September when I went to DC for the first time in my life at the age of 51 to protest this god-forsaken administration, your last line in this post "came home to roost".

Standing at both the WWII Memorial and the Viet Nam Wall made me realize what both my beloved father and oldest brother gave up for this country. Neither of them died or was wounded seriously in either war, but they both went to "war" because they believed in and were willing to die for one thing: the Constitution of the United States written in 1787, and more importantly the first ten amendments to that document, the Bill of Rights.

My father and his namesake, Terry both came back to the US and raised families, paid their bills, etc. They both lead "normal" American lives; but they both fought in their respective wars for the unalienable right of "I might not agree with your opinions, but I'll fight or die to make sure you have the right to speak them."

There might be some people on this discussion board that think my Dad and ny brother were misguided, wrong, etc. Quite frankly, my dears, "I don't give a good goddam."

I will go to my grave proud of these two human beings that stood up and "walked the walk" instead of "talking the talk" like George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest, ad infinitum.

I'm sitting here this Sunday morning hoping and praying that the Democratic Party of the United States has the same "spine" as both of my beloved family members did.

STAND UP FOR THE CONSTITUTION AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS!!!!!

Okay

7. I've attended a few professional sporting events lately...
I told my husband that the rat bastards have taken the Anthem away from me. I hate them for that.

Peace.
