If Bu$h would be impeached that means that Cheney takes over as President and they name a new Vice President. Part of me thinks that this gives the Rightwing a fresh start in the next couple years before the election to regroup. Also, they could name their predecessor by naming a new Vice President (Condi Rice?) and they could then be in position to run in 2008 as the incumbant.
Wouldn't it be better to just let the Republicans dig their hole deeper than bail them out by impeachment or is impeachment a big enough setback that it will resonate with voters and hurt Republicans chances in 08 no matter what.

WE HAVE THE POWER - WE THE PEOPLE
If Cheney is installed, he will be installed neutered because Bush was impeached - If Bush is impeached, isn't Cheney guilty of the same illegal activities?

who may or may not be above the law. If we determine that the statutory laws of this nation are "advisory" and can be broken at will by our leaders, then we are a democracy in name only. It matters not who the men involved are - THEY MUST BE IMPEACHED!!!!
