Inside-trading, cat-killing Frist: "I learned a lesson from Schiavo"
Frist says Schiavo case taught him a lesson
Senate majority leader: Americans don’t want gov’t involved in such choices

Updated: 11:22 a.m. ET Jan. 29, 2006

WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who took a leading role in the Terry Schiavo case, said Sunday it taught him that Americans do not want the government involved in such end-of-life decisions.

Frist, considered a presidential hopeful for 2008, defended his call for further examinations of the brain-damaged Florida woman during the last days of a bitter family feud over her treatment. Schiavo was in a persistent vegetative state.

The case became a rallying point for right-to-life advocates, an important segment of the Republican Party. It also drew interestl gain.

Asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” if he had any regrets regarding the Schiavo case, Frist said: “Well, I’ll tell you what I learned from it, which is obvious. The American people don’t want you involved in these decisions.”

1. Yea I heard that! I am shocked that he admitted it!
It WAS fun to see him squirm though! I'm no Russert fan, but he made BillyBoy stutter, stumble, throw his hands in the air, and actually ADIT he was wrong to get involved in the Schiavo case!!!!

2. Not to mention his family members
screaming at him for not pushing the idea ... as it might cost the family business a pretty penny.

3. He knew that back when he was
shilling for Terri. It was politically expedient for him to be the face of the Save Terri movement back then.

Now it's not. So he changes his tune. Boo fucking hoo, bill. You were a shill then and you are a shill now.

4. Frist, considered a presidential hopeful for 2008?
'Considered' by whom? The Bad Doctor might well be in prison for fraudulent stock transactions and/or his fraudulent charitable organization.

I guess there's no law to stop him from campaigning from his cell, but it MIGHT look bad to the voters ...
