ABC News Compares bush Approval Lows with *gasp* NIXON!
finally!

<snip>

Jan. 29, 2006 — A weakened George W. Bush faces the nation in his 5th State of the Union address beset by war fatigue, persistent discontent on the economy and other domestic issues, ethics concerns and rising interest in Democratic alternatives in this midterm election year.

Bush's bottom-line job rating — 42 percent of Americans approve of his work, 56 percent disapprove — is the worst for a president entering his sixth year in office since Watergate hammered Richard Nixon. And Bush's is not a single-issue problem: More than half disapprove of his work in eight out of nine areas tested in this ABC News/Washington Post poll, from Iraq to immigration to health care.

Start of Sixth-Year Approval Ratings

President: Job Approval Rating:

Bush 42%
Clinton: 60%
Reagan 65%
Nixon 26%
Eisenhower 58%
Truman 45%

2. One of the most clever spin attempts in progress:
That illegal domestic spying will somehow be a winning issue for Bush.

Excuse me???????????

Breaking the law is going to be a winning issue?

4. Of course it is. . .didn't you read Article #2 of the USC
The executive branch is head by the Presidentm the chief executive. . .his word is law and his actions are above the law.

The following are merely suggestions, especially if you are an illegitimate President selected by the Supreme Court.

You missed that part of Article 2??? You're a bad American.

:sarcasm:

3. Freudian ABC Slip?
Many suspect that Bush poll numbers are being padded or handicapped to make him appear more popular than he really is. So, is Bush's poll numbers closer to Nixon's 26%, rather than Bush's alleged 42% poll numbers today?

5. The depth of disapproval is also worthy of comment.
In the poll at WaPo the 'strongly disappove' numbers are stunning. President Botch has made alot of BITTER enemies.

16. All in all, considering the costs to the United States versus the benefits to the United States, do you think the war with Iraq was worth fighting, or not? Do you feel that way strongly or somewhat?

--- Worth fighting --- --- Not worth fighting -- No
NET Strongly Somewhat NET Somewhat Strongly op.

6. Having come of age during the Nixon Administration
I have to say there is NO COMPARISON. No even close. Mere words cannot come to mind how to describe how far worse Bush is than Nixon. I could never have imagined back then how any President could be worse than Tricky Dick.

Mr. Bush, you have exceeded that "honor" ten fold.

7. Amen! Nixon never dreamed of pulling the stuff Bush does.
He must be spinning in his grave.

10. And, if you need more evidence that we are in Bizarro world (or is it...
Bozo-rro world) - Rasmussen has the chimp's approval rating skyrocketing to 49%. If the truth doesn't tell you what you want, just spin 'em and lie....our new culture!!!
