CAN TOPKIC HEADLINES AT DU BE MISLEADING?
Edited on Sun Jan-29-06 02:07 PM by Jeffersons Ghost
Of course, most readers realize that if a headline sticks out like a sore thumb it catches their attention, even if it's a spelling error that grabs the eyes. I mean why not actually use the TOP-KICK error to make the point? Once we as writers for a new, shy, ever-growing audience at DU realize that headlines are our best tool for getting a message read, we can develop a useful approach to serve shared goals in the broadest sense.

While we will often disagree at DU, all TRUE-BLUES agree on one single over-riding principal. We The People totally agree that we must bring justice to a tyrant and his corrupt regime before we can truly restore freedom to America or dignity to government. If you somehow disagree with this notion, I invite you to post here so we might all discuss your reasoning on the topic.

As writers we owe our lurking readers total honesty, straight from our hearts but as Democrats or distant leftists we owe the opposition a chance to fail, again and again. When we write from the heart we must become our own worst critic or risk posting accidental messages, which are essentially detrimental to shared goals.

We must ask ourselves hard questions like, Did I just destroy 1,000 Christian votes against the tyrant by inadvertently attacking their religion? or Did I just sell some sick Reich-Wing media show by mentioning it in far and away the best known left-side source of truth in America?

Other problems arise if we focus on divisive issues that Reich-Wing spin-liars want us to discuss like the "A" word or "G" control or even accepted science as "D" presents.

It's so sad that we as a species apparently evolved to allow our heads to take a break, when feelings emerge. Sure adrenaline was useful against saber-toothed tigers but will it help with saber-tooted tyrants? What's up with condi's teeth anyhow? I always like making a few unfair remarks at saber-toothed Repuke mouthpieces. It pisses freepers off!

I hope you'll forgive an old hack who might even anger the truest blue by making him or her take a long heard look at their writings. All ghosts are a self-appointed consciences for others. We will haunt you until the issue that invites a ghostly voice is fixed. It might even haunt you long after you sign off at DU. At times I might be seen as foolish but perhaps the wisest person who ever lived said, "a wise man can learn from a fool but a fool cannot learn from a wise man."

Can we learn to kick and vote up ideas that will help ALL of us at DU improve. as we prepare for November?

2. you are so right proud to blib
I answered you earlier that usual to show you how quickly even more important issues will magically jump ahead of my humble attempt to provide a unifying influence. It's an effective strategy... I saw it at 3AM one morning on a very slow board, which began to run like a deer, right after my topic hit the top... It takes very few tricksters to achieve those desired results.

I hope I've offered a topic to help find ways to free us from an oppressive regime that controls media everywhere because they lack the self-control necessary for happiness. I want to point out that, after two times down this board, no one finds my message worthy of a single vote. Ask yourself why, proud2blib and bump me up a few times so others can see a deeper truth... thanks so much for your honest response, which is not only useful in keeping a small truth alive but also great advice to a newby like me... I hope you see the wisdom in your subtle kick.

5. I believe we are united in our opposition to the regime
running this country. That is what is most important.

I just said this on another thread and I will repeat it here - as soon as there is only one opinion here on DU, I am leaving. The right marches in lockstep, drinking that koolaid and repeating rush's talking points. I don't want to be like that.

12. i support your view on that to the letter
I'm glad you feel the way ALL americans should... It's an honor to meet you... did you understand the talking points in my original post? There were several but well ordered and concise... Did you have any trouble seeing what I propose? I mean, what's so tricky about using our brain a little before we post?

15. well it's either...
It could mean the shared consciousness as Jung describes or it's a slight typo. I might have meant I'll use my mine, you use yours, so we EACH use OUR brain (s). I apologize for the confusion but I do like chatting about Jung too! lol

14. It's a huge website
80,000 members. No way can we standardize it much.

I have been here a couple years now. If I don't like a thread title, I just don't read it. There are usually a ton of other threads that will prove worthwhile.

16. proud, I appreciate you
Thanks for clearly describing my first talking point: Good headlines get important news read by others... I'm glad that was clear enough to you.

Is my second point written in a strange manner? Does anyone disagree with this next passage?

While we will often disagree at DU, all TRUE-BLUES agree on one single over-riding principal. We The People totally agree that we must bring justice to a tyrant and his corrupt regime before we can truly restore freedom to America or dignity to government. If a leader breaks the law that leader must be brought to justice or we must admit that we live in tyranny and oppression.

Edited on Sun Jan-29-06 03:11 PM by Jeffersons Ghost
I need to address this posting immediately. First, I like your name MM. Mayberry is pure Americana. It conjures up home and family, while hinting at dark Machiavellian approaches just under our national veneer.

We've all seen the "examples" you request here, at DU, numerous times... i see no need to point out perhaps misguided individuals or to once again bring up examples of divisive issues. I'm screaming we must avoid those very topics if we want to not only convict a tyrant who commits daily treason but also bring down his bribe-taking, draft-dodging crooked regime. A few kicks will help me put forth ideas like that, can i count on you?

22. it's tricky to answer criticisms when they are carefully strung togather
I wonder why ANYONE who was really trying to understand or had valid criticism would do that... Maybe some of you will re-post as independant individuals instead of stringing stuff togather like lock-steppers in some army.

and I hate READ THIS!!

or

If I can't tell what the topic is from the title, I skip it. And if it's NOT what the topic title says, I'm pissed and stop reading.
