Playing catch up: Which Dem(s) have worked hardest to reform E-Voting
Over the past year I've purposely become less and less politically aware. I think I'm happier this way. I haven't completely given up on voting yet, but I might soon depending on the progress made in ensuring that our votes actually count. Which elected Dems have done the most to ensure voting rights, paper receipts, etc.?

3. Two come to mind.
NJ Congressman Rush Holt

CA State Senator Debra Bowen

I think Conyers could be conditionally added. His work has been a bit more focused on voter disenfranchisment, rather than the e-vote (and that makes sense because it was probably a larger factor than e-vote manipulation in the 2004).

Conyers bill left the e-voting issues to the companion bill written by CT Senator Chris Dodd. That bill (I hope Conyers distances himself from it...and sense he will) is PRO-DRE...just awful...no paper trail.

4. y'know what I don't understand? . . . what I don't understand is . . .
why the Democrats, as a party, aren't raising holy hell about electronic voting and the very substantial accumulated evidence of fraud in the last three elections . . .

the only possible reasons I can come up with are 1) they don't believe it's a problem (in which case they're uninformed, stupid, or both); 2) they know its a huge problem, but they don't give a shit (in which case they're amoral assholes and traitors); or 3) they're placing perceived "political considerations" above both their conscience and their responsibility to the American people (in which case they're corrupt politicans and not public servents -- more interested in staying in office that in serving the people) . . .

whatever the case, it's totally unacceptable, to say the least . . .
