Not a good thing when a TX repuke promises to "target election fraud"

Translation: TX Democratic voters are going to somehow get screwed out of the voting process in Nov 2006. He will probably "focus" on the Nov 2004 blue (Travis County--Austin) and damn near blue (Dallas County 49%) counties.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/texassouthwest/stories/DN-votefraud_29tex.ART.State.Edition2.3f473e2.html

Attorney General Greg Abbott has directed his office to work with law enforcement officials in 48 counties to stamp out voter fraud. In announcing the effort last week, Mr. Abbott called voter fraud a Texas epidemic and said the "integrity of our democratic election process must be protected."

The initiative includes counties with populations over 100,000, including Dallas County. And it will focus on 14 counties where Mr. Abbott has previously investigated or prosecuted violations of the state's election code. Dallas County is not among those.

Election and law enforcement officials from various counties had not heard about Mr. Abbott's initiative or from his office when the plan was announced Wednesday.

"I don't have any firsthand knowledge of this," said Dallas County Elections Administrator Bruce Sherbet. "We have not been contacted by anybody." The Dallas County district attorney's public integrity unit had also not been officially informed of the plan.

1. It's just scandalous that Democrats are allowed to vote.
Gotta put a stop to it.

2. This is hilarious!
The Repug Secretary of State in Texas has been running all kinds of ads claiming how reliable the Texas election system is now! I guess Abbott didn't get the memo. Abbott is joke anyway. He made his fortune in a lawsuit, then led the "tort reform" movement in Texas. Classic Pug hypocrite.

I'm sure Abbott would love to keep the minority voting to a minimum. That way the Pugs can hang on to power forever.

4. Yeah, " more secure than ever" is in the small, rural neon red counties...

Sounds like it is the more "blue" counties that have the Dem-leaning urban areas that will be targeted. Those are the counties that will have the criteria of "larger than 100,000"..it won't be the small, redneck, repuke counties.

Living in glowing red Collin County I can tell you that the the local repukes admitted a few weeks ago that they would be marketing themselves in the "rural" areas of our county.

What that means is they have come to realize that bigger cities (my city is pop. 250,000) in our county are SO much more diverse than a few years ago and the repukes are probably having a harder time recruiting here. So they are heading to the county's rednecks. The rich repukes in the bigger cities are slowly getting outnumbered.
