Swear to god, Freeptards call "Marlboro Man" a "WUSS" |

Based on this guy's own words, Freepfucks now calling him a "wuss" http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1567602/postsTo: zzen01 Only the MSM would try to turn Marlboro Man into a wuss. 2 posted on 01/29/2006 4:30:51 PM PST by new yorker 77 < Post Reply | Private Reply | To 1 | View Replies >

He is a Wuss. Haven't you learned yet that you're not a real MAN unless you torture, maim and terrorize? And then beat your wife and kids when you get home.

But if what you say is true, whoever posted that comment is utterly depraved. I've been on both ends of PTSD, having experienced it as a result of events in Vietnam and having treated it in many other people as a psychologist. The Marlboro Man is going through the same process a lot of us experienced when we came back from other wars, especially the useless and criminal wars. The armchair warriors know nothing, their pathetic squeals of ignorant rage mean nothing. Let them go, let them fight for the cause they claim to believe in. Let them learn the devastated state of mind that hides behind a thousand-yard stare. Then perhaps I'll listen to them.

But every once in a while, it's important to see just how depraved some of these shitheads are. This is one of them. Click the link.
And it's also important to remember that we had them during Vietnam too, they grew up and became the swift boat liars. And some people right here at DU thought they might be credible. :eyes:

To: zzen01 "He was raised where that's one of the Ten Commandments, do not kill," she said. "I think it's hard for a soldier to go to war and have that embedded in them..... Yet another casualty of a Biblical mistranslation. The Commandment is "thou shall not murder." ....quite a distinction.

"Murder" involves "killing"- "killing" does not automatically connote "murder".
Combat troops are not necessarily guilty of murder just because they kill. I was there, once in a long time ago.
Either way, I just hate this mess.

In fact, she has been up front about how her rescue was used for propaganda.
Her father is not a freeper, either, and has spoken out as well.
The freepers probably hate Jessica Lynch.

for bringing up the fact that she couldn't even clear a stove piped round from her weapon and hunkered down. At the time they loved her and I'm not sure they still do not live under the illusion that she is a certified warrior, they haven't shown a propensity to keep current, thus far.....If not for repuke support she would never have gotten a bronze star and I don't recall her refusing same. I read here recently that they have now decorated her "rescuers" and nominated them for best supporting role.

|
I don't get it. But then, I don't understand a lot of the freep thought process, if what they do can be dignified by calling it thought.
I thought they were supposed to be "supporting the troops" and all that crap; why are they upset that some publicity is being given to the guys who come home with PTSD?

convinced that killing these people was a good thing. That he can see the point of view that "hey maybe they're not all bad guys, maybe just trying to expel an invader, I'd do that in Kentucky too", which doesn't have pretty implications of what we've wrought there.
In a nutshell, he's questioning glorious leader's "mission".

PTSD is just an invention of the "liberal media"
Quote from another FR thread on same subject:
PTSD is a fictitious disease. Like some young kid who you indirectly led into believing they have been abused, you CAN talk people into believing that they have a problem, an issue or even a “disorder”. Just look at the hyper-sensitivity some African Americans have within our society. Every kid growing up WILL get picked on whether it’s for wearing glasses, being to fat, how you speak or yes, how you look. Get over it!

See post above. That is the saddest story I have read in quite a long time. This is why I protested even the thought of invasion - BEFORE we went into Iraq. I had been a social worker for years, and had seen the drive to enlist the poor. I was horrified at the thought of how we were setting those kids up. Tragically, what I feared in 2000 came true.
Yet I cry - the ones who were for sending them over there feel nothing.

guy). As soon as they question or do not support the myth, or fearless leader, they are tossed aside or worse. They must be hated, defamed, then forgotten...
Gee I wonder how much shrapnel these freeptards have picked out of their bodies, collectively? And they question this guy.
I wonder if all the threads where they probably talked about what a stud this guy was are still on the board there, LOL.

To: zzen01 Just like with Vietnam, they want to create the myth that everyone was afraid of being in the military so people won't support the military, and if you don't support the military, then you don't support the country, do you? Nice.
Trauma in war is real, but packaged and advertised as the universal experience makes for a nice sociological weapon, doesn't it?

To: Altair333 The reason people are criticizing this article is because it is a typical example of the biased stuff that comes out of the media:
Example:
"Before long, he began working in a body shop, where the owner told him the most extraordinary thing: Miller could get his auto body repair certification for free -- just by joining the military. A Marine recruiter offered more: insurance, housing, college money."
That excerpt- "the most extraordinary thing"- just drips of condescension. According to the author, this young man joined the military because he was an illiterate redneck looking to get an auto body repair certificate. The second part of that excerpt- about the Marine recruiter- implies that the Marines recruit by bribing and tricking innocent (illiterate, redneck) youths into joining up.
That's why people are so up-in-arms about the liberal media. They don't often show their bias outright, preferring to make subtle hints and vague remarks intended to undermine politicians and institutions they don't agree with.

I'd be happy to see them go. The freaks have NO idea what they're talking about, and I'd love to see them come home with their own case of PTSD, which sucks big time. Sick people who open their big and stupid mouths should be forced to walk in others shoes so they learn first hand how stupid their former opinions are.
