On this day in 1988, the love affair between the Bush Crime Family and CBS News begins in earnest when Dan Rather grills then-Vice President (and presidential candidate) George Herbert Poppy Walker Bush about the elder reptile's role in the Iran-Contra affair. You can read a transcript of the infamous incident at http://ratherbiased.com/transcript.htm . While you're reading it, keep in mind that it's posted on a pro-Bush website, and that they actually believe it makes Dan Rather look bad. Fuckin' hilarious!"

Lots of good reading here, and he references DU quite often!

1. That was good. Thanks for posting. Bush sure is argumentative
and Rather is forceful and relentless with his questions and nobody's fool. He sure can stay on message in spite of all the interruptions. George came across as angry and/or belligerent.

2. Oh the Bush dance is so clear now
RATHER: Well, I had hoped, Mr. Vice President, that you would tell us to whom you expressed your reservations...

BUSH: Yes, I did.

RATHER: What were the reservations?

BUSH: His testi -- reservation about getting the control of an operation in the hands of a foreign power. Don Regan stated the other day, and I never heard a word of it on CBS, that the Vice President, in the presence of the President, spoke up about his concern about the whole cover of an operation being blown and secret -- and people that you're dealing with putting their lives in jeopardy.

Bush is very combative, and refuses to directly answer any question - though he wants to talk about his integrity! So, he decides to placate Rather, and fool the public, by using hear-say - using words Don Regan supposedly expressed a few days earlier that Bush was a concerned vice-president.

Oh, how I wish journalism was like the days of yore ...

3. yeah, we certainly can tell that the nut didn't fall too far from the Bush
in this case! They are both disgusting, revolting jerk-offs who will soon be returned to what they fear the most... insignificance!

While what they have done to our Great Nation is highly significant at the moment, we, as a Nation, are strong enough to rebound from this to be even stronger and more patriotic than ever. We can renew our Respect and Dignity in the world and make it even stronger too.

Our Democratic Leaders ( are you listening John Kerry, Al Gore, Howard Dean & Ted Kennedy?!?!? this means YOU!) need to rise up together and steer us back on course to Peace and Prosperity.

All I want to know is: Who is going to stand up and lead us??? Who among our qualified elected Democratic Leaders is going to pick up this fumble that's been spinning on the playing field for far too long and run with it? Who has the courage, strength, determination and substance to take charge? Whomever it is, please do it quickly! I don't want MY CHILDREN growing up in a Dictatorship. Is that what {b]you want for your kids and family??

:banghead: I want to be free!
