Congress Sells Commercial Rights to State of Union Address

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert will announce today that Congress has sold the commercial rights to the State of Union address for $137 million. Henceforth, the State of Union address will be known as “The Halliburton State of Union Address.”

Spokesmen for the republican caucus said, “we got the idea from college bowl games."

5. The way things are done in this Administration, it will more likely be
a case of "We paid Haliburton $137 million, and in exchange, we get to name the State of the Union Address after their fine company."
