has anyone got any ideas of how to survive state of union address |
|
Im think from what I have read that I will have to break a precedence---I will have to
watch Bush and his state of the union address----what I want to know is how I can tolerate one hour of
this moron ---you know , get drunk before I watch--get several paper bags to puke in---etc---
Seriously, how do you watch this guy without getting a really shameful feeling come over you---???

1. I don't think I can do it, though I feel like I should. |
|
I just get so upset that I find I can't even listen very well to the "content" of his "message." That smirk, his voice, just set me off. Of course, when I do manage to tune in to the content, it's even worse. Smarmy, self-serving BS.

3. Fortunately I have a music engagement tomorrow night |

and therefore won't have to hear his lies, although his smirking visage will no doubt be on the TV screen somewhere in the room. However, the TV sound shall not be turned on, because there's LIVE MUSIC HERE, People!!

I've nothing to feel shameful about. Deep rage, some despair, lots of frustration, yes! I can only stand listening to him in short segments, followed by Jon Stewart or Keith Olbermann commentary. I'll try to watch, but I probably won't be able to stomach it for long -- unless the Dems refuse to clap/stand or turn their backs on him.
I wish there was a MST3K version of the speech. That I could handle! I might try counting the number of times he says "terrorists" or 9/11 and Iraq in close proximity, how often he jerks his jaw, etc.

6. We'll be in a hotel awaiting our flight to Arizona early Wednesday. |

I will leave our hotel room at the time of the speech and go to the weight room or the pool. If the weather is cooperative, I will go for a walk.
I cannot stand * man and would hope that many people like myself won't watch this non-event. I don't need extra points on my blood pressure.
There is an event in the evening in Portland, Oregon which was announced a week or so ago. I'm sorry I can't make that event.
