The Worst-Case Scenario

Jan. 29, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(CBS) We can no longer ignore the worst-case scenario of a nuclear terrorist attack on an American city. Osama bin Laden has made it clear he wants to obtain nuclear weapons and use them against us.

The 9/11 Commission considers such an attack the No. 1 threat today, not because it’s the most likely disaster scenario, but because it would be the most devastating. The chairman of the 9/11 Commission even says he expects to see such an attack on an American city in his lifetime.

Hundreds of thousand of people could die in a nuclear attack, but hundreds of thousands of others could be saved. That’s because the Pentagon — after decades of searching — believes it has found a drug to treat radiation exposure. Why isn’t that drug available?

Correspondent Ed Bradley reports.

Read the whole story. My husband thinks the * administration is trying to force this company out of business so Rumsfeld's company can buy them out and then take over the market. What do you think???

1. Sounds plausible.
I watched it, too. 100,000? WTF?

Peace.

2. My guess is Carlyle.
They already have everyone's phone number, they can just call us up and have us come get the s**t.

3. Watching that porcine appointee who is stalling the whole business
and trying to say that people who are barely able to crawl ten feet should get to a hospital in a nuclear devastated city that no longer has any hospitals made my blood boil. I had to switch off.

Yeah, letting one of their fat cat Big Pill contributors muscle in and buy the company seems like what they're up to. In any case, protecting the US public is LAST on their list.

It's just another demonstration of why we have to get these people out of office ASAP. They are a grave and immediate danger to us and to our country.

4. That story was frustrating
Sometimes they seemed to be talking about a dirty bomb and sometimes about a thermonuclear explosion--vastly different events. There was no detail about which people might be helped by this drug, or how it would magically reduce infection or bleeding, or about what level of injury it could treat. The whole thing seemed a whooo-whooo-booga-booga, be very afraid of terrorists exercise.

I think they want a bunch of americans to die if we do have a nuclear attack. I really do.

THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES.
