Will all these faux-Dems continue to vote like Republicans?

As I see it, they will. They've always voted like Republicans. Apparently the base doesn't mean squat to them.

1. What do you think?
I see an even clearer reason for the liberal blogs to continue. I always thought that gaining a Democratic majority would be the death knell for the blogs, but I now see that they will go on, because the next step will be to clean house and Senate.

2. Not if they see they'll get thrown out on their asses
A lot of these GOP blowhards blew in under the Newt revolution....

We can do the same, only from the LIGHT rather than the dark side....

3. We're the people who campaign, support and vote for them
and they ignored us. There's obviously something more important to them than "getting thrown out on their asses". They just don't fucking care.

4. I USED to campaign, support and vote for them.
Not anymore. When you've been kicked in the teeth this many times, you've got to get a clue. I'm done.

5. It's time to clean house
Those who aren't with us should be voted out.

6. Never fear
We appear to be in no position to gain a majority this year.

7. Yes absolutely.
They'll torpedo the Presidents modest attempts at progressive legislation. It was Democrats who killed Hillary's Medical Plan, and then Clinton had cover to cower in fear in the center for the next seven years.

8. Two things --
1) voting for the Democrat for leader/speaker is VERY important. It means that the agenda is controlled. If we were in the majority, Alito wouldn't have gotten out of committee.

2) Senators represent their states. The "base" in, say, South Dakota is not necessarily the same as the "base" in, say, Massachusetts.

during the Carter presidency ... and he was not an ally.

10. Yes, but we will hold the Chairmanships
and that is what decides what bills move to the floor and what happens after they get to the floor.

12. They will continue to vote as repugs as long as corporations control them.
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 06:38 PM by reprobate
Let me say once more that there is a movement in the states to change election financing laws so that the corporations will no longer have any say in the elections, and can give no money to candidates.

Public campaign financing is the only answer to the situation we now find ourselves in. There is only one political party, the Corporate Party, because ALL candidates must beg them for money, and when they give money they expect returns on their investment. It amounts to legallized bribary, yet nothing is done about it.

This is the way to change everything about our government. It is being done on a state by state basis, is now law in six states and has been introduced in thirty nine others. Get on this bandwagon if you want anything to change.
