You know what I want ?
I want a Democratic party that fights back. I want a Democratic party that hasn't been bought off. We have too many sellouts on our side pretending to be Democrats. What do you want ?

1. We need to start a Progressive Party
The two-party system is for all intents and purposes, dead.

7. Most definitely
Almost all of the positive things about American government came from reforms during the progressive era or the new deal. We need a new era of reform and change now. However, I fear it would be nearly impossible to accomplish anything on a practical scale.

At any rate, welcome to DU!

3. I want Paul Wellstone to be here. And Gene McCarthy, and Bobby Kennedy.
And they are not here. And someone is coming. Or is already here. Someone who Hannity, Limbaugh, Fox, et al could not shake, because that person does not compromise. Like Lincoln. He had a core, unshakeable value: No expansion of slavery. Period. That's what we need. That's what I want. A core.

8. The Dems put the Pentagon on a reporting back timeline two
months ago - and Iraqis are in talks.

That's pretty good news. Means war may actually end sometime soon.
