Why all the Sept 11 programming on cable lately?

I've noticed that there have been a lot of shows, docs and specials about September 11 over the past month or so.

I expect this during the anniversaries but this is January and I can't think of any symbolic date that would account for this.

I find it kind of strange.

Seeing as how the SOTU will be (once again) "9/11, 9/11, 9/11, terror, terror, bad insurgents, BAD insurgents"--the networks are just doing Rove-ordered pre-SOTU programming. Look for the same to happen this summer, leading up to the 9/11 fifth anniversary AND the kick-off for repuke Nov 2006 campaigning.

There probably be a steady wave of sept 11 programs all the way until November.

We'll probably see the return of the Terror color codes pretty soon.

10. A & E ran the 9/11 chronicles twice Sunday

I usually watch that channel for the home improvement shows and the like, but hearing 9/11 documentaries twice in the same day, was surprising. I glanced at the television while they talked about the towers' collapse--and I had never paid attention before to WTC 7--but seeing what was a small fire on top of the roof of WTC 7 explained away as being the result of flying sparks from the twin towers and thus leading to the total collapse of WTC 7, brought home things I'd heard here at DU about the collapse of the towers. I believe more in MIHOP every day--and if they keep letting those film reels roll, I think more and more American will too.

11. Yeah, WTF anyway?

A&E did 9/11 in both documentary and tv movie form the last day or so. Why? Very, very odd. SOTU, mid-terms, Rove. Gotta be. I remember some pundit or other saying on tv just today, the SOTU marks the kick off of the midterm elections. No. Fucking. Shit. 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11....infinity.
