"poll justices name one" came up with several articles referencing FindLaw.com's survey

http://public.findlaw.com/ussc/122005survey.html

We live among SHEEPLE! AGGGGHHHHHH!

The percentages of Americans who could name each current justice were as follows:

Sandra Day O'Connor - 27%
Clarence Thomas - 21%
John Roberts - 16%
Antonin Scalia - 13%
Ruth Bader Ginsburg - 12%
Anthony Kennedy - 7%
David Souter - 5%
Stephen Breyer - 3%
John Paul Stevens - 3%
The national survey used a representative sample of 1,000 adults nationwide, with a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points, and conducted for FindLaw.com by Ipsos Public Affairs.

3. 55% of Americans can't point to themselves in a mirror.
And 10% can but they're undecided if that's them.

SCOTUS Trading Cards. Yep trading cards. With stats on the back,
and information about their political/social leanings...Everytime
a case is decided at the court..a new set of cards come out with the
judges vote/position outlined on the back of that card for that decision.

Hell, here's a perk: 1 printed card every year is put into circulation,
and has a winning prize associated with it: Sleepover in the Lincoln Bedroom.

Ok. How's my marketing so far.

edit: spelling again

5. I often give people quizzes in line at the store...like that one,
"Who is the Sec'y of State" (or Defense, sometimes), at least half of them
can't name either one.

Or I might say "Can you name 2 people on the president's cabinet?" Same
result.

I almost NEVER find anyone who can name our 2 senators and our district's
congressman.

It's really fucking depressing. :grr:

6. Which is exactly why Alito is going to be on the bench.
Most nominees get approved, and most Americans don't care enough to get worked up about it one way or another.

That is why we need a dem majority and a dem president. Then we won't have to worry about anymore Alitos.
