I think last night's suggestion by someone else was a good idea. |
|
I'm going to put it to use. Next time I get a request for funds from the DLC, I'm putting fake (toy) money in it to pay for their fake vote. And I'm including a little note telling them why so that there is NO mistake about my intentions.

1. if they "lose" the note, then they can nail you for counterfeiting |
|
not that they'd actually bother, but people have been convicted for passing obvious toy money.
i'd suggest another form of protest.

3. It would be a public relations nightmare for them. |
|
I would just tell them over the phone that it will be toy money, then mark every bill, "per our discussion..."

4. If they can't distinguish the toy money I was planning on getting |
|
from the real thing they have more problems than I thought they did. Do they sell toy money that looks real? My kids are grown so its been a while.

8. my point was that "counterfeiting" has nothing to do with how "real" it |
|
looks.
people have gone to jail for what they thought was a joke. it has nothing to do with how obviously recognizable the fake money is.
of course they will be able to tell that toy money isn't real. in fact, that's how you could wind up in trouble.

That's becoming just a teensy bit little extreme, maybe even hysterical.

5. I know the ClintonTyree Democratic ATM.......... |

is now officially "out of order". If it's symbolism they want, it's symbolism they'll get. There's a lot of things I could have done with all the money I've donated over the years. Perhaps it's time for a new tack in my life. I may as well have flushed that money down the toilet for all the good it's done.

and include a note that says "since you can't hear our two cents, maybe this will help".
For people unfamiliar with American idioms, giving one's two cents is giving one's opinion. The DLC is DINO heaven though.

a begging letter, saying not to count on me anymore. No more money for that bunch.

Unfortunately, my Senators aren't even worth that much (Dole & Burr).
