every time we think that things in these united states could not get worse
they do!.

every time we think bush cannot outdo himself, he does!

every time we hope the democrats are going to show a spine and stand up for democracy, they don't!

every time we think government has betrayed us, they have!

every time bush opens his mouth, america has yet another tear to cry!

every time the democrats rubber stamp bush's immoral crimes, lies and/or spin, america has more tears to cry

we have become a swamp of betrayals, greed, power grabs, in-noble principles, where men and women lust for power the rest be damned.

we are riding on a barge going back against time, to the idealized and glorified time of poppy bush's childhood and young manhood. a time of divisions, war, war profiteering, hypocritical compassion and men and women dressed in sheep's clothing.

we are riding on the ignorant shoulders of an ignorant secretary of state whose only job is to proffer threats, denials, lies, spin, and more denials while accumulating bloody oil money from the sands of iraq.

i grieve for me. and i grieve for you. most of all, i grieve for these united states.

1. I'm beginning to wonder why it took 70 million dollars to take down
Clinton. The Democratic side of the formula is so limp noodled, that I don't understand why it was so hard to take Clinton down. There is more resistance today, than there was in the 90s to the right-wing tools, so did the Republicans make that up too?

was a rant about being sick of whining and tears instead of fighting, but forget it.

5. okay
I should have left the damned post. But I'm sick of attacking other Democrats, too. What do people call it? the circular firing squad?

For the record, I was proud of a lot of Democrats yesterday.

8. I'm sick of them too, and doubly sick of being inspired to have them
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 09:09 AM by darkmaestro019
I think everybody's sick of the macro and micro versions of swinging till you're too tired to raise your head and getting, nowhere. Grief (whining and tears) is just as valid and normal a reaction as fury, I guess, and I suspect most people are fluctuating between some combination of the two. And the third Kindly One, of course, the worst--apathy. The urge to turn it off and wander around looking for yet another of the dwindling plant jobs and maybe watch some (shudder) mindless TV--to escape--is the one I feel the worst about. And I suspect those who give in to THAT urge, we'll never know. They'll just quit posting.

EDIT: I'm trying badly to say that I know where you're coming from, but I know where the despairing posts are coming from, too. I'm glad they're still HERE, at least. You cry awhile--come here to find a sympathetic shoulder to cry ON--but if they're still bothering to do that at all I suspect they're gonna wipe their faces at the end of it and keep walking. At least for now.

16. Generally, most people who post inflammatory threads are prepared
to take the heat. I'm simply pointing out to you that there is a cycle that repeats itself within the Democratic Party, and until you've been here for a while, you either won't see it, or you haven't been stung enough by it to be prepared to take the next step.

I'll just say that many people who voted for Nadar in 2000, saw it. They made the wrong choice that year, but singing the sun will come out tomorrow doesn't work either.

6. Everytime
we think we are going to win an election, we don''t.

And until that is corrected, well you're going to see more of the same. 2006 elections are coming up. What are you doing for your candidate?

11. They are definitely in a sad state of affairs. Nearly 60% of wealth in
this place is controlled by the top 1%. And we just keep fortifying them.
