But other Republicans want to hang onto their phoney-baloney jobs, at least until they can secure a high-paying job where they can trade on their putative "pull" in Washington for a high-paying gig like notorious failure John Engler from Michigan.
Which leads us to Republicans hitting the airwaves and urging President Drunky McLameduck to draw off a little Abramoff fire while they run for cover:
Republican legislators urged President Bush today to make public photographs and information about contacts that he or his top aides had with the lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who has pleaded guilty to felony charges of conspiracy and fraud in an influence-peddling scandal.
