Does anybody think Bill Clinton has gotten too "cozy" with the Bushes?
I cannot help but think Bill Clinton is just too friendly with the Bush Family. He defends Monkey Boy by saying "Give the guy a break!" (aw, shucks, Bill. Why the hell should I?) and has been around them too much. I can kind of credit him and Senior Bush for helping out the Tsunami and Katrina victims which I thought was good but I cannot help to think that he has just been hanging out too much with the Bush Inc. Also, how is this going to help Hillary in 2008?

2. What is he hoping to gain?
His legacy in history is secure, and his popularity is undisputed. Why the ass-kissing?

3. Maybe he wants to be selected in 2008 instead of Jeb
Apparently Poppy thinks of him as a son.

5. Maybe he's genuinely trying to be a nice guy
And even though it makes me :puke: to say it, maybe * isn't such a bad guy to hang out with if you're in those circles. I can't imagine myself or any of the DU crowd wanting to do so, but Clinton does exist in a different world that none of us will probably ever get to see (the Ex-Presidents Club).

That being said, I'm sure that the Gopher King and Senior are using this to his advantage, eavesdropping on him and his Democrat pals.

6. Explaining Clinton
He's too close with the same powers that support the Bushes. This goes for many of the Democrats in Congress, I suspect, and explains their vote for Alito. Read an excellent article in the February 13 issue of The Nation ( don't know if it is online too ) titled "The Party of Davos". It posits that the loss of the Democratic base is due to his suppport for and passage of NAFTA during his administration. Makes some good points.

10. Me too. Reminds me that our democracy is all smoke and mirrors.
I prefer to think there's a genuine difference between the parties, but it's all glad handing and back slapping behind the scenes.

8. its a very, very exclusive club: former presidents.
there are very few people who actually know what its like.
I can understand hanging around people with similar experiences.

however pathetic it appears, I suppose that's the best spin I can put on it.
Doesn't keep me from puking, though.

It is weird, though.

12. It appears he has a tendency to forgive. The truth is the Republican
Party has declared war on the people of this country. His forgiveness of their personal decade long attack on him is one thing. Siding up to the our enemy is another.

Which rich person up there in politics can we trust? Kennedy is the only one.
