I was just wondering;
If the driver highlighted here;

Probe into beating of suspect caught on camera
Police chief says inquiry will ask: ‘Is the force appropriate for the situation?’

ST. LOUIS - Police were videotaped punching and kicking a suspect after a car chase Monday, and officials are investigating to determine whether the four officers involved acted illegally.

Live television showed much of the chase, as well as officers apparently beating the man for several seconds. What could not be clearly seen on the video was how much the suspect was resisting.

The chase began in the St. Louis suburb of Maplewood, after officers said they noticed a man in a van acting suspiciously. It ended in St. Louis.

Had an 'Impeach Bush' bumper sticker? Or maybe the cops thought that the suspect was a national threat and had to resort to torture to save MO from a terrorist attack. The mind boggles at thought. Regardless, the cops will get off.

1. It's a neglected part of the training --
after a high speed chase the police must be doubly careful about their reactions because of their heightened adreneline that was pumped up during the chase. Of course, the person they were chasing also has his adrenaline pumped up so he is liklier to resist when the chase stops.

A bad combination all around. That's why so many municipalities have disallowed high speed chases -- just get a description of the vehicle, try to track it by air and stop it at a road block. Much safer for everyone.
