Food manufacturer Kraft announces plans to cut 8,000 jobs, close up to 20 plants
By MIKE COLIAS Associated Press Writer

(AP) - CHICAGO-Kraft Foods Inc., the largest U.S. food manufacturer, said Monday it would eliminate 8,000 jobs and close up to 20 production plants as it broadens an ongoing restructuring effort.

Kraft said the cuts would save an additional $700 million (€579 million) in annual costs, atop a targeted $450 million (€372.5 million) in savings it already had hoped to achieve through a restructuring that began in 2004.

and retain the jobs. Make real food, not chem-soaked genetically mutant crap "food product", and Kraft would have plenty of jobs.

8. And Add to that the 5,000 jobs Dell will
be outsourcing to India and we are looking at 13,000 jobs total alone for the month of Jan 2006. Yes, the SOTU speech will no doubt let us know how well the economy and job situation is...
