Arguements against oral consent of judges |
|
So i'm in a Model Senate Class for college and tomorrow we have a bill that we have to debate. I was wanting to get some good ideas for my arguement against oral consent of judges to approve a warrant. Any thoughts? I have a few but was wanting to go prepared with the best ideas and arguement.

2. It allows for corruption - no check/balance to power |

One judge could give the wink/nudge to the cops, and the cops could start arresting people without warrents claiming they got a verbal warrant from the judge, who of course, then sides with the cops once they find illegal contraband during their illegal searches, or find contraband the cops weren't originally looking for and claim it was verbally part of the original warrant.
