1. Leave the company alone? People are bound and determined
to vote against their best interests. :wtf:

7. It's the business section. Readership is skewed to the right.
Done.

26% support for price controls is an impressive showing for that kind of forum.

14. Don't you know that the magical free market, guided
by the invisible hand of Adam Smith himself, will come in and correct this?

6. I noticed this also, and if you add the two together......
but that's the divide and conquer thing again.

5. I voted for windfall taxes
But every time I see an SUV filling-up for $3.00 gallon, I sit there in my Toyota Prius and laugh.

Maybe expensive gasoline is what we need to get people to start conserving?

Meanwhile, have you noticed that car dealers are selling giant SUVs with "Free gasoline for a year" now?

I can't for the life of me imagine who would say leave the company alone!! Being pissed about gas and heating oil prices seems to cross party lines.

9. Done. Don't windfall taxes...
just fuel the coffers of the administration? If price controls were enacted we'd get "something"!

12. I voted for price controls
I don't think you can accurately impose a windfall tax. If you reach X billion in profits, do you then tax? or, is it revenues? or % profit?
