Tell them that a Senator from Massachusetts gave a passionate speech in a last minute attempt to persuade the people about what might be in store for them just before the Senate was to vote in a very important decision. Tell them that just before that vote, other good people also spoke with passion and how they also worked hard to stop the vote for the good of all citizens.

Tell them that in the same month you heard a former Vice President give a speech that required a lot of bravery because it involved the truth about how the country was doing.

Tell them that good people were thankful for their work.

They'll remember that you cared and whose side you were on.

1. Those who come after us will have these battles to fight just as we did.

It's up to the children what direction this country will go when they are adults. It could be that they want to return to the 50's with coat hanger abortions, anti union thugs, more corporatism, dirty water and air, more violence against those who are different. Maybe they will believe in the things that we do and want a change to happen. I won't be around. We made this world now we pass on the legacy to them.
