Okay who remembers SOTU in 2003?
Remember how Drudge posted (and MSM followed as usual) pictures of W writing and editing his speech. Blue pen in hand. Glasses pulled down his nose. Sleeves rolled up. Serious times and all call for him to get directly involved you know.

Then when the 16 words got exposed....it was all Hadley's fault. The strong and honorable leader doesn't have anything to do with anything as trifling as writing speeches...pfft he has the world to save. W doesn't know what is in any speech or where it came from.

Remember that one?

1. As much as I think Bush is an ignorant fuck
I don't think you could name one president in the past 3-4 decades (probably more, and certainly in the last 1-2) that has written his own SOTU (or any other speech). People who are really good at that get paid a lot of money to do that.

4. Clinton had people do the initial draft, then he went over it and
honed it to his own liking.

That's as close as it gets, I think.

Though I doubt * does even that much.

5. Yes, that is the point.... they are trying to portray **
as writing the speeches, and then when there are big errors in them... like the Niger forgery claim, all of a sudden he (Bush, that is) has nothing to do with it.

They can't have it both ways.

6. Well that makes it all the more ridiculous
I think that there is little doubt that usually the POTUS is much more involved than W is.

I can't remember which year it was but Clinton lost his teleprompter once for about 5 minutes. He knew the speech so well that he went on without it. He looked down from time to time but mostly he had it in his head. I'll see if I can find it.

8. Oh, I agree with you
Bush is an ignorant fuck and couldn't talk for 5 seconds without that blank stare in his eyes like he had when that boom mike broke during the press conference. Clinton did not write his own speeches, but knew them very well. Bush doesn't even read a fucking newspaper for Christ's sake, why would he bother studying a speech.

God I hate him with every fiber of my being.

10. I stopped listening to his jive in '02
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 03:41 PM by stellanoir
when he in his utter idiocy uttered the "axis of evil." That was hardly diplomatically savvy.

And just look at the results.

Pathetic and not worth my time of day or night.

Don't buy into the hype and bull.

Fight for free and fair elections.

It's our only hope.
