What is this 'ALMOST' bullshit??
Gore ALMOST won in 2000, Kerry ALMOST won in 2004, now we ALMOST blocked Alito...

Hey...FUCK THIS!!!!!!!

I'm fucking sick and tired of ALMOST!!!

We'd better not ALMOST win the House or Senate in November...

I am ALMOST psychotic with anger right now; I can just see that smarmy shit-eating grin the Chimp will be wearing at the SOTU address tonight...:grr:

I'm tired of us lying to ourselves. We did not fucking win in 2004. I wish we had. But we didn't.

16. And we did not "win" in 2000 either.
If we had "won" then Bush would not be in the WH.

I'm with you- the excuse making around here is getting sickening.

19. Excuse making is a little annoying
But i think there were enough major irregularities in 2000 to consider it a stolen election. But also old news. 2004 the irregularties (and there wre some) weren't enough to swing the balance.

5. Plus, a lot of my anger comes from two things
1. It was so obviously a political move to get Alito confirmed before the SOTU and the Democrats just played into the hand like it was their first poker game.

2. They had 42 no votes which means that 17 people didn't have the sack to vote no to cloture in order to make Bush look like the impotent chimp he is while giving the SOTU.

I'm with you. I don't think I can even watch one second of the SOTU. My TV cost too much money to be broken at this point.

17. Did you received an email from Kerry?
I just received this from Sen Kerry, almost don't get it done we needed to beat Alito.

Yesterday, 25 Democratic Senators joined our effort to filibuster the Alito nomination -- that's more votes to filibuster the Alito nomination than there were votes against Justice Roberts' nomination itself just a few months ago.

This morning, 42 Senators voted against Alito's nomination. That's the highest number of votes against any Supreme Court nominee since Clarence Thomas in 1991.

It's hard to lose -- but it's important to fight for what we believe in. I want to thank the hundreds of thousands of you who signed our petitions, called your senators, wrote letters to the editor and, most important, refused to stand silent while President Bush worked to pack the highest court in the land with far right ideologues. We fought a fight that needed fighting.

We made sure the nation knew the truth about the Alito nomination. We made sure America heard how a right wing ideological coup sandbagged Harriet Miers' nomination and replaced her with Judge Alito. No one will be able to say, in five to ten years, that he or she is surprised by the decisions Judge Alito makes from the bench. People who believe in privacy rights, who fight for the rights of the most disadvantaged, who believe in balancing the power between the President and Congress had to take a stand.

We also made it clear to the Bush administration that no matter what they throw at us in 2006 -- whether it's extreme nominees, special interest giveaways, shortsighted policy or Swift Boat-style attacks against Democratic candidates -- we will never surrender. We will always fight back.

Now, we must be clear about something else. Winning the 2006 congressional elections is the only way to change the dangerous path George W. Bush has put us on. We need to defeat those Republicans who have overlooked this administration's incompetence, turned a blind eye to its failures, and lent a helping hand to its dangerous ideology.

Together, we have to act to make sure 2006 is the year Americans, led by Democrats, stand up to incompetence, cronyism and corruption, take back Congress, and get our nation moving in the right direction again.

I look forward to fighting alongside you.

Sincerely,

John Kerry

22. This is what makes me angry when...
I see a Dem and a repug on a talk show. The repug will say that the dems keep losing elections because they don't have a message, and the dem will chime in and say well we do have to come together on one message. This has been going on since 2000 and the dems let them get away with it instead of telling them what they have done and what they will do.

They should right away say we haven't lost any elections, but this is when tweety says if you didn't lose the election why didn't gore or kerry fight it. So they won't speak on it and tweety knows they are afraid to so he keeps saying they don't have a message and uses the repugs talking points and does his little smirk everytime they go for a break, knowing the dem is to afraid to speak out about their lies. Everytime the dems speak of a solution in the past the repugs take it and change it a little and act like it was their idea.

23. It's like we've become the party of Brave Sir Robin,
who had nearly fought the Dragon of Angnor, who had nearly stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol, and who had personally wet himself at the Battle of Badon Hill!

May I suggest that you DON'T watch the SOTU tonight. You would probably have a more pleasant experience just drinking a glass of lye.
