Want to Get Ill?: Checkout Health Care Costs for the UAE |
|
I did know how badly things were broken until I moved over here... Here is a list of some average healthcare costs.
Average Doctor Visit: $9 Specialist: $15 Course of Zithromax: $17 Course of Amoxicillin: $3-4
Very Basic Health Insurance: FREE. provided by employer. Comprehensive Health Insurance: $1000 (for the whole year).
A large percentage of what I talked about is provided through private systems. It is not a state-run healthcare system.
Keep in mind, the UAE is NOT a poor country. It has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world...
So, yes Virginia healthcare in the US IS broken.
