Here's how I argue with repubs that the '04 election was stolen
I start out by saying "Well, I"m not a conspiracy theorist. As a matter of fact, I don't even like conspiracy theorists." (That last part is untrue but it disarms them). I continue, "However, there are some troubling questions raised that have just not been resolved." Then I take them quietly and gently through the strongest arguments, which I think are that the exit polls and the voting results were so skewed as to be mathematically impossible ("smarter people than I have proved this" and I list the math professors who have done this). And then I top it with the fact that these polling disparities only happened at polls using electronic voting and in states that were critical to victory.

I still need to work on it, but so far even if I haven't changed any minds, I have planted a few seeds of doubt for them to dwell on. The trick is to come off sounding oh, so reasonable and "troubled" not angry.

If anyone can give me more fodder, I'd be grateful.

1. Judging by the number of Republicans who turned against *...
... after his first term, the numbers in 2004 really don't add up, do they?

2. Problem is that even if you prove it, it isn't going to matter to them
because they get a kick out of knowing that "they" stole it. The "win at any cost" mentality that permeates our sports in this country (football player going out on the field with broken fingers or sprained ankles), has made it into the general public's perception of politics.

They don't care about the means any more. Only the ends.

3. For those who've arrived at their position by way of reason
and logic, reason and logic are the tools that can sway them.

Those who arrive at their stances emotionally are also rarely swayed by reasoned response. Witness the furor over Ms. Alito's tears, be they calculated or genuine, and whatever their cause, the response was emotional overkill, aimed at whoever was the target of the moment. Reasoning with these people is strictly an exercise in futility.

Since most people combine, in varying proportions, emotion and reason, the skill of the persuader (you) will show up in the ability to ferret out where the lines are and how much emphasis to place on each part of your argument. This is always fascinating and can be fun, depending on your own investment in the process and outcome.

in Ohio HB 3 just got passed and it codifies election theft. It was signed as
a voter protection act .... same as HAVA ......

Some of the rank and file do not know but the top dogs do and it pleases them.

5. Just tell them that 3 partisian Dem. bought out the companies that
control the vote (secret software, non verifiable votes) and watch their heads explode.

7. I read somewhere that voting poll discrepancies don't match diebold
districts. Some districts w/out machines had fluffy exit polls. And it has happened in the last few elections. Especially ones Bush is involved with.

REally apples & oranges. There are 49 ways that votes were messed with. Including War President and a host of others. Annecdotal evidence on much of it. Not much annecdotal on diebold machines except for faulty defaults (that went both ways.. but mostly to Bush).

So there are my things that need to be jumped on and fixed.

No one thing will save the elections. We need to vigilant on all fronts.

Including getting enough machines in all diebold dem districts. As sorry as it sounds - if votes are not being stolen in that district (as you think they are by machines) they will be stolen if long line-ups is allowed to re-occur.

9. The exit polls sure were way off in the recent election
in the Paestinian controlled areas. Fatah party
polled something like 58% in exit polls and ended
up with less than 40%. And they used paper ballots!!

Does that mean exit polls are'nt worth a shit?

10. Bush orchestrated the most brilliant execution in stealing
elections ever devised by mankind. He got the leaders
of every critical county in closely contested states
to tamper the vote counts, with the cooperation of all
programmers and technicians at Diebold!!!

What I can't understand is how did Bush cabal made sure
that not one of them would blow the whistle on this
criminal act? Can you imagine how many books the whistle
blower could sell and how much money they would be paid
by MSM to speel the beans?

If BCFE is that efficient, I am afraid we may be screwed.
