Repub who won't believe a word about Jeff Gannon
On a recent trip to Europe I told an old guy in my group when we were all at dinner about Jeff Gannon: the links to the gay military stud websites, "weenie on the web" photo, sleepovers at the WH, fake name and fake news org.and fake credentials, how McClellan knew his name when he called on him, etc. This was met with a completely blank look. He said he'd never heard of Gannon (the guy's from Chicago), and besides, lots of lies are told on the Internet and photos can be photoshopped. Stopped me cold.

Now I'm afraid that this is just going to be the spin and we've lost that wonderful Gannon story. BTW, how can I convince doubters about the photos and the webites?

If he doesn't read the papers, whaddayagonna do?

There are lots of nitwits out there--if it ain't on Faux, it didn't happen. They like the tarted up women and bright colors, ya see.

3. You're not, because he was never famous enough to become a household
word.

The only thing you could possibly do is compile the available online video of the guy's actual questions asked during his WH stint, and send along news articles about TalonNews.com and Gannon, but those articles would have to come from the most "mainstream" of sources and NOT lefty blogs.

And even then, dude probably wouldn't read any of it.

And even if he DID, odds are at least 50-50 or worse that he STILL wouldn't believe.

5. I'm sure his questions are on the white house website
There are transcripts of press conferences with * and Scotty. Also he did interview Joe Wilson in Oct 2003 sighting as a source for questions a mysterious(classified?) State dept memo. Because of this Gannon/Guckert will make a comeback for Libby's trial and who knows what else? All anyone with an open mind needs to do is google the names and you'll find enough proof.

The biggest ass kissing democrat hating bullshit non-question. That was his trademark and it is what got people asking about him in the first place.

12. Oh, I remember some of his specific questions. But if you're trying to
convince some wingnut shrub worshipper, you need the names etc. Lost cause with this guy, not worth the effort really.

8. Oh, I hope so! I've never laughed so hard
as I did during the Gannon scandal. It would be good for it to resurface. I need a laugh just about now.

7. Make him prove it
He's right about one thing, with today's technology, almost anything could be faked. Pics and websites woudln't be that hard to cook up.

But make him prove that Gannon was a real journalist. All this other stuff is simply a red herring, distracting from the real problem: you had some guy with fake credentials sitting in a WH press room, being acknowledged by McClellan, and tossing up softballs. Have this guy try to prove that Gannon was legit. If he is, it shouldn't be too hard to track down the agency he worked for, should it?

13. We have one a 'live one', today, in an interview in our local....
..media....he is crying because he just can't understand why
Bush hasn't told the Americans about the WMD's being shipped to
Syria days before the US invasion of Iraq.

He said that Bush better talk about this in the SOTU address tonight or
he'll lose trust in this Admin.

My reply to him: "Hey, I'm as surprised as you...Bush hasn't
had any trouble lying to the American public so far....why not add this lie to the heap."

Don't ever lose faith! The Gannon story will ultimately be told! He is at the center of everything, and I sincerely believe he will resurface in a big way when and if the Bush administration puzzle is ever solved.

15. Nah, he's just another Repub tool, a "cog" in their noise machine. The
significance of Gannon/Guckert is how he was totally EXPOSED as a WH/Repub plant and fake "journalist" planted to "catapult the propaganda" for the fictitious president... BUT NO ONE CARED ANYWAY!

The big joke is on America.

NO ONE CARED ANYWAY.

Back to Monday Night Football and American Idol.

17. Gannon
No one cared, because the media was afraid to report it. I don't believe he was a plant to deflect our attention from other administration misdeeds. I think, rather that he's just another example of Bush administration sloppiness and inattention (or perhaps disinterest paid) to detail. I know I may be a die-hard, but I still believe that when this whole thing washes, Gannon will go down (pardon the pun) as a Rasputin, or at least as a Monica Lewinsky.

18. I didn't mean he was a plant to deflect attention. He was a plant to
ask softball questions, and take the questioning "heat" off shrub or scotty if it got too hot.

It WAS reported in the media, just not page 1, nightly news leadoff kind of stuff.

Sorry; I now see what you meant. Nonetheless, the frequency with which Gannon shows up on the WH visitor log and the number of apprarent 'sleepovers' would seem to indicate that Gannon was a major player. I couldn't believe it at the time when whatever agency released the WH logs. Probably the only time in the Bush admin that requested info was forthcoming. I can't help but wonder if this was Bush's one fatal mistake, as it was the only thing to prove how thick Gannon was with these thieves.

They sat on that story until they suffocated it. No wonder the old man doesn't know a damned thing about it. You can hardly blame him. Blame you-know-who! :grr:

19. Bill Maher interviewed Leslie Stahl about Gannon
She was increduluous at how a man using a fake name (Gannon/Guckert) could get Social Security clearance.

There is a video somewhere....
