7. They announced that at the protest gathering |
|
outside the Capitol Reflecting Pool. Everyone cheered for her.
I wonder if the charges are going to be, "Exercizing the First Ammendment". As Joe Strummer said, "You have the right to free speech, as long as . . . you're not dumb enough to actually TRY it."

9. Seems like the disruptor claus somehow was placed in effect. |
|
You know the claus in the New Patriot act not yet voted on in the senate that basically says wearing a T-shirt like Cindy did can get you arrested.

10. She was apparently warned not to wear the t-shirt |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 10:33 PM by Tactical Progressive
but she hid it under her shirt until she got inside.
They probably should have just escorted her out and made her change the t-shirt.
I know alot of you will resent that she wasn't allowed to wear a t-shirt, but I always take it in the reverse. You just know that there would be nasty freepers with 'Clinton is a rapist' t-shirts given the opportunity. They are way more nuts than we are, so any small liberty we take you know they will take to ten times the extreme as sanctimoniously as you please.
SotU isn't the forum for t-shirts and placards. Wrong move for Cindy. She'll probably have to pay a fine, and rightly so.

11. Wrong move for Cindy?!!! A T-shirt is NO reason for her to be arrested! |
|
If they don't like the message - THE TRUTH- don't look at it.

13. Did I say she should have been arrested? |
|
I must have missed that. Glad you caught it.
And no, the protocol for a SotU isn't 'if you don't like the message then don't look at it'.

14. Protocol dictates no protests INSIDE the congrssional chamber.. |
|
during the SOTU speech. Cindy should have protested, and rightly so, just outside of the building, where she would have certainly attracted MSM camera's.
You can't have disruption with ALL of the nation's leaders gathered for a serious business with 200 years of tradition behind it. Otherwise we ar eno different than a bannana communist republic.
And if it was a democratic president addressing the nations leaders, I would be even more disgusted with a freeper disruptor.

Tee shirt. An illegal tee shirt. It said illegal things. It promoted illegal thoughts. It asked illegal questions.
And they have the freepers convinced that they're trying to *protect* our freedom.

Why didn't she sit through the speech and at the very end, take off the outter shirt and stand up so the cameras caught her protest tshirt? This way, her protest would have been on national television. I mean, if she's going to get arrested, why not make it worth her while.
