Ted Kennedy should have given the Dem Response.
I would have liked to see some passion. Instead we got this smiling why can't we just get along placater. This is why we lose. We cannot be all things to all people and go along to get along. We have to provide a choice. This was being as much like the GOP as possible. We musn't threaten the voters with a choice. The GOP might get nervous! I am so angry, I didn't think I could be angrier after yesterday but what do ya know. Are we "trying" to lose again?

1. short term pain, long term gain
We really need to upend the party establishment. I'm so sick of this. We might lose a few seats in the short term, but in the long term, when people realize we are FIGHTERS for what is right, we will win and win big.

4. I think you are right, Saracat. We were busy with Alito but should have
been emailing about Kaine, whom I hadn't heard of but many people were objecting but there was no activism. I had thought the Dems might show courage and walk out or turn their backs but a STRONG REBUTTAL BY A POWERFUL, PASSIONATE DEMOCRATIC SPEAKER AFTER THE LYING SOTU SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR GOAL.

I am really wondering about Harry Reid and Pelosi. Is there anything we can do to change the Dems Minority leaders. Pelosi just replaced a good Democrat with one who has had her law license pulled :wtf: and put a turncoat on the NSA investigation committee according to a post a FireDogLake about 10 days ago -- I think the replacement's name is Jane Harkin.

5. I thought Kaine did a fine job
and Kennedy's rhetoric is too negative. Beside, much as I admire him, we need some new faces representing the dems.

9. Excuse me? Kaine just won in a red state...Teddy could'nt win
outside of Massachusetts. I think we need more centrist
leaders like Kaine, who sound cool headed, down to earth
and connect with majority of voters. I have nothing against
Teddy, I just want to win a majority and Kaine's is the way
to that.
