I watched NBC last night and again this morning (ok I know but...........), Russert said last night and again today with Tom Brokaw that the Domestic Spying issue is going to the Supreme Court. Said the congress is going to force it there. I think the hearings are going to be alot more interesting then we think, and I think the SOTU speech is the launching point for all this. I was really struck last night on the behavior of congress, as was commented on by others, they seemed not to care at all, and were openly showing their disdain.

1. Well now that the Supreme Court is packed |
|
with Conservatives, we know how the spying issue will be resolved. That's like going to the movie and knowing the ending.

6. I haven't found a link yet |
|
this was in conversation with Tom Brokaw. I know, I know, about packing the Supreme Court but.......this will be very interesting and I am going to say right now, I don't think it will come out the way you think. I know, I know don't get your hopes up but..................this is different and a clear violation of law, and no one else but the Bush administration had anything to do with the decision. So repub congress men can really go forward with their conscience and the Supreme Court can too.

Russert's "observation" gets the "DUH AWARD" of the day. Of course Congress is going to force this to the Supreme Court. That was the whole idea behind the Alito appointment. Get him in an confirmed asap, before Bush's spy program gets before the court. They're counting on Sam the Scam to rubber stamp his illegalities. Since the BFEE already owns Thomas, and we don't know whether or not BushCo has naked gay pictures of enough of the other justices to secure his victory, but something tells me he'll pull this one out of the fire. To fail could actually mean prosecution on this one. He'll make it work.

5. He looked us right in the face |
|
He looked America in the face, and he looked congress in the face last night, and the whole world, and you know what he had to say to us?
F-YOU.
He said it over and over again, but especially on this issue. It was a double-dog dare . . . "just try and stop me."
My God, I want to see justice. And now, with the absolutely psychopathic Alito (did you see his face?) now on the Supreme Court, what are the chances of seing it?

No kidding. That's exactly what this speech was. A double-dog dare. On the day he got his rubber stamp appointed to the court.

7. UNITARY EXECUTIVE POWER will be granted, |
|
the fascist state will be granted the power to spy on us, and we are so screwed it's not even funny. ScAlito and Roberts were installed as justices for a reason.
Welcome to 1984

9. There is only one hope, I fear |
|
And that is that either Roberts or Alito will end up being another Warren or Souter. You know the type--they'll say anything, do anything, be anything, to get the gig, and then once they own the stage, they do their own thing--and "Ha, ha! Ya can't fire me, ya putz!!"--that would be grand indeed.
It would be well deserved justice for the Monkey, but I frankly am not holding my breath.

Society, I don't think that's gonna happen. They were groomed and installed for a reason and we're about to find out why.
I'm not holding my breath either.

14. Maybe they gamed those guys, too |
|
Perhaps they are simply power whores, who can lie, cheat and steal to reach their ambitions.
But then, ya gotta ask yourself, which is worse? A pair of arch-conservative assholes who support a dictator, or a couple of lying psychopaths who will prevaricate gleefully to achieve their goal?
It's a dreadful scenario, either way....

15. Russert on Today this morning implied US public will back Bush on it. |
|
If so, he has really duped the voters big time.
