Big Media is turning up the volume for the BushCo Cabal
Edited on Wed Feb-01-06 10:11 AM by Vinnie From Indy
It is no secret. Rove stated in a speech a few days ago that the strategy is to use "security" as the GOP theme that will win the '06 elections. The corporate media is on board and starting to hammer everyday the carefully crafted Rovian talking points.

You are in grave danger.
Bush is strong.
Bush is decisive.
Democrats are weak.
Democrats are confused.

One can clearly see that the list is short and easily adaptable for media operatives to fit into any situation or story. Paula Zahn, Couric and Matthews are just a few of the operatives that have begun the daily repetition of these points to get as many mental imprints in the heads of Americans prior to the election.

These themes, while helpful and productive for the GOP, only have to get the polling close enough for the election fraud operation to seem less obvious in all states other than Ohio where they don't even care about appearances.

Democrats HAVE to start challenging the MEDIA PERSONALITIES DIRECTLY! They need to BE FRICKIN' PREPARED when they appear in front of these media operatives and call THEM PERSONALLY to account for the blatant lies, misdirection and spin routinely used by them to cover for BushCo. In short, they need to quit expecting to receive a fair shake in the media and start attacking media's credibility directly.

1. The Democrats had better counter with How are we safer statements
They had better start pounding on the loss of civil liberties when the government listens to your phone calls un checked.
They had better come out swinging or they can all just go home and dig them selves graves.

2. I thought Kerry
did a pretty good job this morning with Couric - he was concise, informed and had all his talking points down. It would be construed as "being mean" (Alito's wife eg) if he would have attacked her personally but the Dems in Congress need to be more forceful in the future and to perhaps find other media outlets that will get the message out other than the big MSM. You can't win with a bully by being a bully. I really liked the way Kerry kinda smirked after they said their pleasantry goodbyes....B-)

4. I agree somewhat
There are certainly advantages to choosing one's battles. For example, Kerry might not be the person to go right at Katie Couric challenging her objectivity, but Barbara Boxer would have done just fine.

We have to make the issue of the media's bias one of our repetitive talking points and be prepared to challenge the on-air hosts directly. Other than Media Matters chronicling the lies and spin, there is absolutely no downside for hosts and media operatives blatantly lying and spinning for BushCo. They HAVE TO BE MADE TO FEAR BEING CONFRONTED PERSONALLY ON THEIR LIES BY EVERY DEMOCRAT THEY MEET!!!!!!!!!

5. Howard Dean
did that very well last week with Couric when he shot her down about Democrats being in on the Abramoff issue - I missed some of their retractions the next day and didn't have time to go back and check. I had heard that the big ones like ABC and the like are being threatened by the Administration that they won't get the big interviews and scoops if they don't tow the line - isn't that just plain BLACKMAIL? Couldn't that kind of tactic be exposed and shown for what it is - a fascist move?

3. The Daily Show has the solution.
Do you remember Jon's recent show of Oprah hammering away at that lying author? Then he contrasted it with how the Media whores softball questions to the Republican leaders?

Do the same with Dems and Republicans. Show Couric grilling Kerry, meanwhile, show her throwing softballs to the Republicans.
