Subject: Katie, you are not being fair!

I have been watching your interviews lately. I am a registered nurse in NYC & I'm not usually at home during the morning hours, but with the assistance of the internet(s), I am now able to watch as you GRILL Howard Dean, John Kerry while simultaneously spouting the Republican Tawking Points.

Does Bush's Permanent Tax Cut mean that much to you, huh?

I was so impressed with the grace that you handled your husband's illness & publicized the importance of colonoscopies. In the ASU where I work, many patients told me they were having their scopes done for the very first time after seeing you have one on TV. You really demystified the process & took their fear away & God bless you for that.

As a mother I give you all the respect that a single mom should get, raising your kids without their Dad is a tough, tough thing to do.

But I cannot fathom what makes you treat "The Opposition Party" as you do, it saddens me so. Let a Republican on, you just smile & let them ramble on, till they get all their points out, all their spin & lies. But Dean gets it, you don't even believe him when he tries to correct your mistaken Republican-Agenda beliefs. And this morning, with Kerry, gee whiz, you were just shriekingly shrill! I mean, come on, how can you say that George Bush wants to work with the Democrats & you fling off your glasses, toss back your hair & interrupt Senator Kerry every chance you get!

Where does George Bush stand on your precious colonoscopies, huh? How good is the Republican Party with colon cancer, do they really care?

My youngest son has juvenile diabetes. I doubt highly that George Bush cares one bit about that, do you?

I don't feel like I get you anymore, I really don't.

The absolutely right things to say, especially about the colonoscopies. That brought it home, or should, to her. I am impressed and inspired as I am writing to Cokie Roberts about her going over to the dark side. I want to tell her that I heard her mother, Lindy Boggs, give a great speech at my stepson's graduation from Tulane. I want to tell her that I heard her give a great speech to the Women and Girls Fund of a local community foundation here in CT a couple of years ago.

Women, we have to get up close and personal with other women in the media. We have to shame them. We have to tell them we are disappointed and they are not doing their jobs. I secretly think they know that but are in denial. Tell them about the courage of Christiane Amounpour who actually reports from war zones, not in the safety of Studio B in Rockefeller Plaza. Ask them where the values they held when they were young and in college went. Tell them they are betraying a generation of girls and women.

12. I was listening to an interview...

that Howard Fineman did with Imus...and I'm not really an Imus fan, but he does have some interesting people on, from time to time...

And Howard Fineman just got diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. This, I imagine, is Imus' audience, men who could get prostate cancer, or have had prostate cancer...and Howard was talking about how he was dealing with it...and he mentioned that he remembered that John Kerry had Prostate Cancer, so he called him, before he underwent treatment, and he was surprised how kind & helpful & thoughtful Kerry was. He gave him good advice, he called him frequently, at all times of the day/night to see how Howard was feeling...

And I could hear the note of surprise in Howard Fineman's voice, and I kept thinking, "What kind of response would you get from George Bush, huh?"

I actually think that you should send it to a bunch of newspapers and entertainment oriented magazines as well as just trying to get it to her. I would like to see that kind of thing get exposure to a wider audience.
