Well, I dunno, but the wise old sages of 'centrism' at the DLC say we gotta come up with SOMETHING to show the voters that we're nailin' them damn jihadists to the wall 'cause we're every BIT as bad as the president!

No, of course they don't quote polls...

"DLC | New Dem Dispatch | February 1, 2006
Bush Signals the GOP's Play

Last night, President Bush ostensibly reported to Congress and the nation on the State of the Union. But what he really delivered was a report on the state of party politics going into the 2006 midterm elections."

-snip-

"... the one real message in his speech was the same one he perfected during the 2004 campaign: he is the indispensable man in America's war with jihadist terrorism, and any Democrats who challenge his conduct of that war at home or abroad are inviting surrender and defeat.

In reacting to the president's address, DLC chairman Gov. Tom Vilsack compared Bush to a football coach who is so confident the opposition cannot stop a particular play that he is happy to signal it in advance." -snip- "...the GOP is going to run the national security play right at Democrats until they prove capable of effectively defending it. And this is basically what Bush's offensive coordinator, Karl Rove, told the Republican National Committee week before last.

So the challenge is very clear. Democrats must not only find a way to effectively critique the administration's stewardship of national security between now and November, but must also restore their own strength and credibility as smart and resolute warriors in the fight with jihadist terrorism.

In a State of the Union address that's already being widely described as forgettable, this is one challenge Democrats must remember and accept."

1. "restore"
"Democrats... must also restore their own strength and credibility as smart and resolute warriors in the fight with jihadist terrorism."

Funny word, that. "Restore." Seems to imply it was lost or damaged at some point. Yet, what party presided over the greastest terrorist attack on US soil? Which party was itching for a war to overthrow a sworn enemy of those terrorists? Which party said there were WMDs "north, south, east, and west somewhat"? I could go on, but y'all know the drill.

The only "restoration" the Democrats need is to remove the mold and rusty decay that is the DLC.

2. Sure, why not..........
the Democratic party needs to prove that they're just as insane as the GOP if they want to win elections. Heaven forbid there be an "alternative" to this madness. You should contact the DLC with this idea of yours, I'm sure they're open to any suggestions of how we can become "just like them". Of course, this is :sarcasm: just in case anyone isn't quite awake yet.
