The criminals wish to hide behind "closed sessions"... |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-02-06 04:49 PM by kentuck
Watching the hearing today with NSA , CIA, and FBI, I noticed that every difficult question was brushed aside with the canned response that they could only answer that in "closed session". Yes, there are secrets to be kept but one question was about how many people had been caught with the secret wiretapping? When asked for just an estimate, Negroponte refused to give an answer. However, when asked if any person had been killed in this country under this "program", they were comfortable in responding?? Why would one question be off-base and the other not? And the question that would seem to require "closed session" was answered and the other was not??
And how can citizens have any confidence that our Senators will not be intimidated and controlled by these criminals once they are behind closed doors? Can we trust anyone to keep these people within the boundaries of the law? I have a lot of respect for Feingold and Levin, but how will they operate behind closed doors? I am not confident.

ties - all this nonsense about "reform" is just that - nonsense. They have absolutely no intention of doing anything about any of this. Can you say "loopholes big enough to drive a truck through"? It's up to us to make plenty of noise.

One of my all time favorite expressions, but looking at the makeup of the Supreme Court now-a-days, and the 'unitary executive theory' ..... well not sure it will have the same sting? Sigh ..... I may have to re-do my favorite expressions list here soon.
