Rove Not a Genius
Since Bush got elected everyone has been claiming that Karl Rove is some type of genius. Rove is not a genius in any way shape or form. During the 2000 election when Karl Rove pulled out many tricks and the media claimed that Gore was a liar while claiming Bush was just such a great guy, Bush lost the election by 500,000 votes.

1. Thank you.
He is not a genius. He is reaping the GOP's work of forty years. And he is blowing it very badly.

What was that line in the "Princess Bride"? Something about working so long only to fail so badly?

2. Correct. It's just that the dim bulbs in the media fall for his
cry baby routine everytime. "Well I guess we better give these, who are they again, Swift Boat Veterens for truth, equal time with the candidates. That seems right."

like it or not. And he does set the tone for a lot of winger propanda, if you listen closely to what he says. But a genius? No, geniuses shed light, not darkness... :)

4. He's amoral and unethical, but not a genius
He has a pit bull attitude to winning, but he's not a genius.

5. I disagree
Rove is a genius, I am sorry to admit. Part of the deal is the Rove knows exactly how to manipulate the media. Of course the media is complicit with his actions, but the man is a dark magician and a sociopath as well. This is a very dangerous combination as he has no honor, morals or ethics and can operate with the freedom to do whatever he wants.

6. "he has no honor, morals or ethics" - That is not a sign of
genius. It is quite the opposite. He has to rely on baser instincts to prosper and survive. That is not a sign of genius. As you said, he is a sociopath (like his puppet bush**).

10. I'd call that more of a cunning and devious nature than I would
a genius. If Karl Rove is a genius then Donna Brazile is an omniscient deity.

13. semantics
The word genius has no affiliation to judgement...it does not mean good or bad, but can be both, hence the phrases "evil genius" or "evil mastermind" etc.

who goes for the sound-bite mentality and gets it.

For example, to justify the warrantless wiretapping business, the sound-bite is "We want to know what Al Qaeda is doing."

WE NEED someone who can advocate with the same simplicity (this is obviously not Kerry* or Gore).

A good sound-bite response might be "They knew what Al Qaeda was doing before 9/11 and they couldn't defend us."

*closest Kerry came was when he called 'em a "bunch of crooked liars"

We simply didn't know and still haven't learned how to play the game.

He's just in the right place at the right time.

He's not manipulating the media. Just taking advantage of groundwork conservatives have been putting in place for the last 30 years. They own the media, and have conducted misinformation campaigns to insulate themeselves eg. liberal media bias. That they've been caught red handed so many times and blatantly over stepped so many boundaries despite having everything in their favor, demonstrates more incompetence than genius. Played a little smarter and with a bit more subtlety the conservatives could've owned this country for generations, but they got greedy and overreached. If Rove is the mastermind behind all of this, as is often claimed, he's an idiot.

edited for spelling.

a vicious, diseased rat.

what has succeeded marginally is Roves willingness to slander political opponents.

the main force behind the imposition of the fascist agenda are the factions within CIA, NSA, DOD and FBI who are part of the necon cabal and who enabled the coup in 2000, "MIHOP'ed" 9-11 and engineered the phony "war" on terror to provide cover for their fascist agenda.

I am not sure why this pudgy, balding little man has inspired so much fear in so many, but there is no doubt he has been 'successful' for a long time (if that means achieving his political objectives).

He and Delay are the same kind of creature. Hopefully Fitz will indict the son-of-a-bitch and he will share Delay's fate.

{on edit: I have nothing against bald men! My husband is one!}
