3. How'bout freedom from secret police spying
on ordinary citizens including citizens involved in Greenpeace, Catholic Workers or Quakers.

"Apparently, last year at a Quaker meeting house in Lake Worth, Fla., a small group of activists met to plan a protest of military recruiting at local high schools. NBC News has obtained a secret 400-page Defense Department document labeling the meeting as a “ threat, ” one of around 1,500 “ suspicious incidents ” that occurred in this country over a 10-month period. (For a more detailed list of other targets, check out msnbc.com.)"

(Check out this link - - the T-shirt crowd is right up there in the threat category!)

It is extremely interesting that "freedom is on the march" everywhere BUT the US since 9/11 and this so-called "war on terror" started. Terrorists aren't going to have much to hate us for after awhile, especially since they seem to have been amazingly effective in encouraging our leaders to seek to alter our way of life (by adopting a so-called "post-9/11 mindset"). Frankly, I think that Bushco is playing right into the hands of Al-Queda by launching unprovoked wars on ME nations (Iraq), threatening further military actions against other ME nations (Iran), and ensuring a permanent US presence in a region known for its hostility to the US. I believe that he has also USED 9/11 to establish a new American "order" that seems to value security BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY above civil liberties (which are important only to those card-carrying ACLU junkies!). To paraphrase Michael Moore ("Dude, Where's My Country?"), I don't think that 3,000 people died on 9/11 to bring about the kind of negative changes that Bushco has brought to the country and to the world at large.

10. Well said, and how true!
I noticed and wasn't surprised that Saudi Arabia and whoever else was involved in the cruise ship that sunk rejected help from the US and the UK.

Imagine with all the extraordiary rendition, torture, and indefinite possibly wrongful detention we have to offer: and they don't want our help.

;)
