Rummy compares Chavez to Hitler

Venezuelan diplomat ordered out of U.S.

Saturday, February 04, 2006

Snip...

The tit-for-tat expulsions marked another chapter in the steady deterioration in U.S.- Venezuelan relations under Chavez, who has warned repeatedly that Washington has plans to invade Venezuela.

On Thursday, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld drew a parallel between Chavez and Adolf Hitler.

"He's a person who was elected legally - just as Adolf Hitler was elected legally - and then consolidated power," Rumsfeld said in a National Press Club appearance.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack did not repeat the comparison with Hitler on Friday but acknowledged U.S. concern about the way Venezuela is governed.

1. "He's a person who was elected legally - just as Adolf Hitler was elected
legally - and then consolidated power,"

I guess that's where the Bush/Hitler comparisons fall down -- since Bush was not elected legally to begin withl.

3. Good Point
because...boy howdy, has Bush consolidated the power!!!
Fucking asshole!

He is his own judge, jury, and everything. He doesn't get warrants or judicial or Congressional oversight or approval for fucking wiretaps, like he's required to...and that's just the latest tip of the fucking iceberg. Why isn't this fucker gone already? Nixon did less damage, and woulda been impeached if he hadn't resigned first. Clinton was impeached for the huge offense of getting a hummer in the WH, and then lying about it.

So why doesn't Bush get impeached?

7. How Venezuela is Governed?
I liked this line:

"State Department spokesman Sean McCormack did not repeat the comparison with Hitler on Friday but acknowledged U.S. concern about the way Venezuela is governed."

Sheesh.

There are many parallels between the various fascist states in Europe in the 1920s and 30s. But, it is true that the Nazis were an elected minority in their parliament. Hitler was chosen to be chancellor by President Hindenburg in a completely legal manner.

So, considering that the Bushites and radical Republicans clearly stole the 2000 presidential election, it is true that the Hitler/Bush comparison breaks down.

What I am going to investigate more is the fascist/Phalange govenment in the Spain of Francisco Franco. There was a fascist regime in alliance with the Roman Catholic Church. That is a parallel with the alliance today in our country between the Bushites and right-wing Catholics and Protestants.

2. Is Venezuela attacking Iraq, contemplating attacking Iran,
deposing democratically elected leaders in nations he has no business in, inciting coups, training people to go back to S.America to do rather illegal
things, and generally just mucking up the place?? No, that's been our job and we know that competition in the workplace isn't allowed.

5. No, but he did give poor folks reduced heating fuel....
when all the rest of the profit history making oil companies failed to answer the call....maybe poor folks (and anyone else who can't afford their heating bills) are 'addicted to staying semi-warm'.
