Take Action!

Bush Announces Supplemental Appropriation Request!

Yesterday, the Bush administration announced that it will ask for another $70 billion for the Iraq war. This will bring the total cost of the wars in Iraq and Afganistan to $120 billion for 2006.

Two days ago, the House voted to make $39.5 billion in cuts to Medicaid, Social Security for people with disabilities, child care programs and student loans. To find out how your Rep. voted, go to:
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2006/roll004.xml

Don't get up from this computer until you have sent a letter to the editor of your local paper demanding that your members of Congress vote against that supplemental appropriation! Keep it short, keep it simple, get it done!

You can write to your local, state and national media (5 at a time) here:
http://capwiz.com/pdamerica/dbq/media/

It is time to highlight the cost of the war. You can customize your letter for your state. Find out what your state or city could have done with the money we have already squandered in Iraq at:

http://costofwar.com/index.html

After you write your letter to the editor, fax a copy of it to your Representative and Senators. You can find their fax numbers by entering your zip code on this page:

For further information on the supplemental appropriation request, here is an article from Congressional Quarterly:

Bush to Seek $90.3 Billion Supplemental Spending Request
The president's fiscal 2007 budget proposal will assume a $90.3 billion supplemental spending request to be submitted this spring to cover war, hurricane and flu spending, a Senate GOP leadership aide said today.

The budget will be sent to Congress on Monday. The details of the supplemental will follow later.

About $70 billion of the supplemental would go toward the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, $18 billion for hurricane relief and $2.3 billion for avian flu preparations, the aide said.

Lawmakers had expected the defense portion of the supplemental to be substantial; the military in fiscal 2005 spent $4.5 billion a month in Iraq and $800 million in Afghanistan . If requirements remain the same, the Pentagon would burn through the $50 billion war funding included in the fiscal 2006 budget by this summer.

Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., who has sharply criticized the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, said he was uncertain if $18 billion would be enough to cover the costs that remain. "We're learning as we go," he said today. "It may be enough, it may not be."

5. We are the only remaining champions of Republican Liberty
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 04:58 PM by dubya_dubya_III
The name of our opponents party itself has become a lie. They are Conservative Neo-Tory Religious Fascists who would pillage the entire earth with a war of violent religious politicide rather than enforce the correct and proper establishment of two equal, peaceful free (even if asymmetrical in custom) states based stringently upon Republican Liberty in Palestine.

"...avoid the necessity of those overgrown military establishments which, under any form of government, are inauspicious to liberty, and which are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty." -- George Washington

"The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Herman Goering, Nuremberg

It is our duty to re-educate Americans about the tyranny of conservative religious fascism that brought about our forefathers rebellion against monarchist anglican-episcopal fascism, and defined our new once-pacific Republic of Liberty, but was also the supposedly 'Christian' and Shinto Fascist arch neo conservative political enemy we defeated in WWII.

"Today Christians rule Germany! I pledge that I never will tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity .. We want to fill our culture again with the true Christian spirit ... We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press - in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess..." - *The Speeches of Adolph Hitler, 1922-1939, Vol. 1

Never forget that in 1947 America surrendered to Imperial Fascism (creating an unconstitutional permanent military establishment and an unconstitutional blank-check-of Marquee CIA Mafia, in order to wage an un declarable imperial fascist Cold War of mercantile monopolism on an "equal footing" with our Imperial Anglican Fascist British ally and our 'godless' Imperial Communal Fascist Soviet enemy.

Fear of the political outlawing of religious freedom (Godless Communism) takes nothing from our righteous Republican Liberal fear of fascist, 'established' religious tyranny!!!

"while we give no encouragement to the importation of foreign vices, we ought to be equally as careful not to create any. A vice begotten might be worse than a vice imported. The latter, depending on favor, would be a sycophant; the other, by pride of birth, would be a tyrant: To the one we should be dupes, to the other - slaves"

---Thomas Paine, warning us of the entrapping criminal corruption and inevitable tyranny of a foreseen Imperial Cold War Cabal either as a SS/MI6/KGB Mafia import, or far far worse as a home-grown "CIA" Military-Industrial Mafia. - Pennsylvania Magazine - 1775

By adopting the unconstitutional trappings of imperial tyranny, America's misguided political 'leadership' has tyrannized itself and Americans, and now that very secret noble mafia cabal of tyranny is using deception, misinformation secret disinformation and it's secret franchise over fear (terrorism) to extend and impose that "excusable" politically sleazy exploitation of "christian" fascist tyranny to enslave the whole world in our name.

The freedom to worship the One Who Is Love in any form or fashion must never be confused with tribal, parochial dogmatic hate mongering assembled and established as a fascist political party who's policies and goals are brokered by the pious.

3. I misread your post, but, as I think of it, why not?
I think we could do to war what they did to education. We could have War block grants. Can't have a war unless it meets some particularly zany requirements. Has to be results driven. If it doesn't meet standards, on a whim, at any time, your funding could be cut. I like this better all the time. Have funding or grant limits. Make them ridiculously small. Take away general funding of the War Department because now its all competitive vbia grants. Only the most worthy wars get funded and not very well.

Dry up war to the point where you can drown it in the bathtub.
