Another one of those interesting political fund sites (like Newsmeat, Fundrace and Open Secrets) ~

---------------
Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as of 2/1/2006
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee filed its report covering 12/1/2005-12/31/2005.
The committee reports $4,874,496 in receipts and $2,027,347 in disbursements.

~~~~~> Cash on hand totals $25,252,409
----------------
National Republican Senatorial Committee as of 2/1/2006
The National Republican Senatorial Committee filed its report covering 12/1/2005-12/31/2005.
The committee reports $2,567,170 in receipts and $1,215,730 in disbursements.
~~~~~~> Cash on hand totals $10,539,068

----------------

The site gives a lot of information about 527's and PACS as well. I posted the above two pieces of info because they were last updated only a couple of days ago. :)
(Not everything on the site is completely up to date)

----------------

This was also on the front page of their latest news wrap-up:

"The Swift Boat Vets and POWs for Truth <-- :mad: reported that it raised zero dollars and spent $184,539 during the last six months of 2005. They paid $44,111 to Patton Boggs for consultant/legal fees. They paid $17,188 to Political Compliance Services (VA) for expenses. They transferred $100,000 to Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation (Philadelphia, PA)."

~I checked their website after seeing that, and they are still asking for donations. It's good to see that they aren't currently receiving any!!

----------------

Rethugs out pace us in lot of the corporate donations, etc. But hey.. looking through the site, there's still good news to be found! ~~ :patriot:

1. BTW.... the site is a bi-partisan (FEC) website--
So the info shouldn't be slanted one way or another.. Good to see those Democratic Senatorial Campaign numbers!!!!

2. All that money won't help our candidates...
Who are running in states with electronic voting machines.

Thankfully this isn't the case with the entire country.

I predict that if this really IS a landslide year for the Democrats, the scandals about rigged machines will come out shortly after the election.

After all, if Democrat "A" is polled to win by 55-60%, and Democrat "B" is polled to win by the same, won't the public collectively raise its eyebrows if Democrat "A" loses and Democrat "B" wins a safe victory?

3. Hillary has 17 million in the bank, Bayh has over 9 million.
Not so bad. And Dean is putting the money where he said he would, over 9 million to the states so far. Not bad.

4. Another interesting thing I found on there....
Was that our creepy Congressman in Alaska, Don "Build the Bridges to Nowhere" Young has been donating money to some PAC that is raising money for Randy "Duke" Cunningham's legal woes.

Young has been in deep crap with the media up here lately because of his immense ties to Abramoff (he's up for re-election this year)..

And I just found on this site that he's forking out money to the legal defense fund of Duke Cunningham!!

I'll be forwarding the info I found directly to the good people at the Anchorage Daily News...

7. How many of each party are up for re-election?
Could matter in how the money is doled (sorry the pun) out.
