Given all these, at what point do you think We The People will be able to stop this from becoming Nazi Germany? I am reading "They Thought They Were Free", and to a man the subjects of that book were OK with everything that Hitler did except lose the war. In fact, * has lost the war in Iraq and the one in Afghanistan, yet still has 43% on his side. So fill in the blank amid this background.

Well, look at it like this;

Support for the iraq war is low, yet we are still there.

Support for NSA wiretaps are low, yet they will most likely be allowed to continue.

I think that, at this point, many Americans ARE tired of this and are fed up. But the media and the politicians are NOT doing anything about it. As I asked in another thread, how can DEmocrats be worried about looking weak on defense to americans for opposing the nsa wiretaps, if most Americans oppose the wiretaps already? It seems to me that the democrats and the media are more concerned with what the xian taliban, the right wing pundits, and the GOP think of them than they are with what the american people think.

I really do think when they saw: "We dont want to appear weak on defense", they don't mean appearing weak to americans in general, they mean appearing weak to the GOP. Thats where their loyalties seem to lie these days.
