1. YES!!!!!
If we lose our civil liberties in the name of security, then haven't the terrorists won by making us change our way of life?

Of course, we know who the real enemy is though.

2. Yep. If we destroy the instruments of our Democracy, terrorists have won,
be they Al Queda or the alliance of corporate and GOP interests.

4. There has been a not so silent coup. We lost everything with the Patriot
Act.

This is the result. Why don't they read that act? Why don't they let us know that we've given a bumbling liar in charge if a collection of clever liars the ability to invnoke dictatorial power.

The CONSTITUTION is our national security!

9. Well, by not giving up we win. That's what they want, just "go away."
Fugedaboudid! as Tony Soprano would say. We're here to stay. It's our country. We contribute and politics is part of the contribution

As long as we're engaged, we win. Ultimately, they will collapse in on themselves. We just need to be around;).

5. His OATH was to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution"
there's nothing in the oath he swore to that says anything about "national security" and he seems hell bent to destroy the very Constitution he has sworn to uphold.

Presidential Oath
Each president recites the following oath, in accordance with Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Domestic spying without probable cause and a properly executed warrent is against the Constitution.

6. "We hold these truths to be self evident..."
From the Declaration.

The Founders knew that the basis of the American experiment was "rule of law" not of tyrants.

Bush is a tyrant. HE MUST BE IMIPEACHED.

7. "Protecting our Constitution comes first."
Here's what we must do.

First, we've got to set things right at home. Protecting our Constitution comes first. Country before Party. Congress must fulfill its duties to the American people, not rollover for favors from the Executive branch. We need a full, in-depth, bipartisan investigation of the Administration's bypassing of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Congress needs to show resolve that the laws it passes do bind the executive branch, whether in wiretapping, humane treatment of prisoners, or the freedom of information act. Moreover, it is time for a special prosecutor, independent of the Department of Justice, to be empowered to investigate the Abramoff scandal, and pursue the leads all the way through Congress and up to the highest office in the land, if necessary. Get it out and get it over.
