Since Gonzo says * can spy on anyone he likes, doesn't that mean that
that issue is off the table wrt impeachment? The nation's chief law enforcement official has declared spying to be OK, so doesn't that make it de facto legal?

2. I can't believe how pissed I am
after watching Gonzales today. What a disgrace this country is--to allow that hemming and hawing stooge even walk out the door a free man...and all for POLITICS? Is the Constitution expendable for POLITICS?

4. The truth is our constitution is not in effect any more
We're in a dictatorship, and anyone who doesn't realize that listens to hate radio to much.

5. Frankly, I think that's off the table regardless
of how this plays out. I head the words "good faith" enough today to see that. The best we can hope for is to put a stop to it.

6. Impeachment does not require a violation of law.
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 08:06 PM by Warren Stupidity
It is a purely political act. Congress can impeach and convict Bush because he is an asswipe, or because he is well groomed, or because he has violated his oath of office to uphold the constitution. None of those are violations of any statute. They can impeach and convict and remove from office for any damn reason they see fit. There is no endrun other than brute force that would prevent Congress from doing what is right.

8. Well of course but
the OP made the claim that since the AG declared that breaking the law was legal it was no longer impeachable, and that claim is false. The law has nothing to do with it, politics has everything to do with it.
