1. Wasn't that just outrageous how George Washington did all that
electronic surveillance? I'm just surprised nobody noticed how he was standing around with one of Ben Franklin's keys on a kite string stuck in his ear.

24. George Washington Had Wooden Teeth And Fessed Up To Chopping....
down the cherry tree. Remember his line "I cannot tell a lie". Now A.G. A.G. has me wondering if Washington was telling the truth.

6. Well, how about that!
We finally achieved one of man's greatest desires and created a time machine; I'm sure Washington, Lincoln, and Wilson are enjoying using it now during their presidencies! :sarcasm:

Too bad we don't have an "ultimate moran" icon, it's desperately needed here. Just when I think they can't get any more ridiculous and ignorant, and ridiculously ignorant, along comes a statement like this that's SO fucking stupid that you wonder how someone can be that stupid and ignorant and still be walking around.

9. And every one of them served BEFORE the current law was enacted
So what are you saying, Mr. Attorney General? That we should prosecute those abuses under some kind of ex post facto theory of constitutional interpretation?

Are you that fookin' stoopid Mr. Gonzales, or do you think we are that stupid? Either way, that's a pretty insulting assertion. Too bad you weren't under oath.

28. I believe the crux of the argument
Is that an act of Congress cannot infringe upon powers that are inherent to the presidency.

Which may be true in some cases, but clearly not here, as IIRC the FISA statute has stood up to constiutional scrutiny in the past.

That's right, folks. The Attorney General of the United States said George Washington authorized electronic surveillance.

You can't make this stuff up.

We're doomed.

17. Do you know what the worst part about this is?
I'm sure a few million people (at least) heard that remark and said, "Well, if Washington and Lincoln did it, why are they going after Dubya for doing it? Damn liberal media!" :eyes:

Do you know what the best part about this is?
Those same people will eventually repeat that information to someone with a brain who will laugh in their face!

26. Washington and Lincoln did not have the luxury of electricity.
The Wilson administration had electricity. I highly doubt the electronic surveillance even existed. The telephone and phonograph were considered state of the art in 1917.

How exactly did a man that lived before electricity conduct electronic surveillance?

I would really be interested in hearing this.
