Just A Thought - I'm Posing This For Discussion - Should The Dems.....
offer support for any Repug that defects their party; defies Rove and lines up against * on this survelliance issue? Let these potenially brave souls know that they have a home should they be abandoned by their party or are a target of blackmail by Rove.

I know that this idea might seem heretical here at DU - but we need to break this one sided Congress somehow.

I know we shouldn't have to offer a reward for someone to do the right thing. But remember these people are politicians. I'm just saying - Let's make a deal if that's what it takes.

Any comments????

1. Time to write our Senators.
Our congressional members need to understand that they are a species facing extinction. Bush is taking their power right out from under them and they need to stand up for themselves. If they don't, there won't be a job for them in the near future.

2. I think that would discourage the potential defectors
let them defect without appearing to be in league with the hated dems. Remember this spying thing is something the conservatives are supposed to be against.

3. What is our position on what congress should do about the illegal
spying? Should they pass a law to make it doubly illegal?

Or should they impeach?

5. Hey - It Worked For Abramoff.....
seriously - Jeffords basically turned on the Repugs. I think we can all agree that there is potential for others. Why don't we take advantage of it?

I'm sure the Repugs offered Lieberman a similar deal going the other way.
